Stephen Miller : Mr. President, when you go out for your press conference just ignore the questions and focus on what riles up your base :

Crimes committed by black and brown people and transgenders

and act tough like you are a badass...MAGAs eat that shit up

Trump : got it... black and brown crime, trans, and act tough... I can remember 3 things but just to be sure should I have notes ?
So, that’s person, woman, man, camera, TV. I won’t forget!

Again, it cannot be an emergency if the rate has been falling. COURTS, where are you?

See, this is what all those stays from SCOTUS were about. Are the DC courts going to invest time and effort into enjoining this thing only to see the Supreme Court brush it aside without half a thought?

It's been about chilling litigation and this is why I say it's not a court.
Courts ? We don't need no stinkin' courts since SCOTUS granted Trump absolute power.

Courts are so yesterday...duh

Today's press conference was the first time I've wished that if we have to have an autocrat, could we at least have one as smart as Xi?
I had not considered which autocrat I would prefer over Trump, but I agree with your choice.

XI is addressing climate change and using soft power to build alliances across the global community. At 73yo I may live long enough to see China replace us as the dominant geopolitical superpower.

No potshot intended, just anecdotal observation - in this clip, trump reminds me of my grandfather in the early stages of primary progressive aphasia (a form of dementia). Word misuses, blunted affect, word finding challenges, strange tangents (it's not a "weave", it's an attention issue) all the while appearing grossly fluent in other moments. My grandfather was also a hands-talker, but it became much more pronounced as the language capacity faded.
I'm an eternal optimist, but I'm encouraged that NOBODY appears to be covering today's press conference favorably. Most coverage seems to be like your comment -- Trump is a fading, mentally-diminished demagogue narrating the world as it only exists inside his diminished brain. A few people seem to be talking favorably about his policies without referencing what he actually said.

I really hope we get to the point soon where even Trump's defenders (including those on this board) don't take him seriously. Unfortunately, we're only 1/8 of the way through this term, so everyone who voted for him will be tagged with the insanity we experience from this point forward. But maybe even those people start to see him as the mentally-compromised geriatric he is, rather than the demigod they have assumed him to be.

Wow

I just finished watching the entire bat shit crazy press conference that our lying demented moronic "president" conducted.

Before watching I asked myself if I really wanted to subject myself to a 2 hour press conference featuring Trump and his two bootlickers Pete and Pam ?

I decided I should watch because this will be another chapter unfolding in the history of the decline of American democracy.

What was disappointing but not surprising was that no one in the press stood up and said, " With all due respect Mr. President, you have been lying to us for 2 hours and quite frankly this press conference brings in to question whether compos mentis is something for America to consider

According to Twain, the only distinctively American criminal class.
Don’t forget your county commissioners.

At my Mom’s 25th high school reunion, which was 43 years ago, one of her classmates bragged he was already retired. Mom asked, “How are you already retired?” He answered, “P, darlin’, I was a county commissioner for 12 years.”

An Orange County commissioner miraculously owned a significant chunk of land where I-40 crossed Hwy. 86. He was a Democrat……a Jesse Helms-Ronald Reagan supporting Democrat.
