Trump admin says that Europe is facing “civilizational erasure” due to its immigration practices:

I would challenge our board conservatives to tell us what aspect of European culture is in danger of being “erased” other than “being all white.”

European grifters did to Europe whatever the con and other pale skin supremacists say ppl from the southern hemisphere are doing to Europe.

Given Europe’s birth rate, the “European” “culture” will be gone soon (by 2100? Certainly by 2200).

In the first half of the 20th century, Italian immigrants to the UK weren’t English-Italians, they were Britalians. Never English; but always British. As rabidly British as those sons of immigrants in “Band of Brothers” were rabid Americans.

Bring in immigrants. Welcome them. Convert them into Frenchies or Poles or Germans……keep immigrants out, and your country dies a slower death given your birth rate.

Same is true for the US.

No doubt about this. Immigration has been one of the key sources of fuel for our economic engine. The US isn't going to return to a native-born birth rate high enough to keep growing our country, no matter how many creepy child-bearing arrangements Elon Musk enters into. Moreover, contrary to the narrative that Miller and Trump like to push, I think the US has always done a great job assimilating immigrants into our culture (and, just as important, making aspects of those immigrants' culture part of our own).

It's not clear to me that, in the future, a country growing in population and one growing in prosperity will be one and the same. You need a population that you can keep educated ,healthy and fed. Sheer numbers doesn't matter much for work, war or much of anything else anymore. Now, no democracy or really any legitimate government is going to escape the burden of the sick and helpless nor should they try. It does seem to me that a growing population is not necessary to prosperity or a growing future.

You know how sometimes Europeans get a little irritated when you put them all in the same bucket...this is a perfect situation for that. The Euros really vary by how they assimilate immigrants into their fold. Spain gets a lot of immigrants from Latin America which has been easier to fold into their culture (still have challenges); speaking the same language (sort of) really helps. Other countries have been more rigid in assimilation which brings some tougher challenges (Sweden in the last decade comes to mind).
