Us vs them is an easy rallying cry that taps into a base human need to belong to a groupWhy does this administration see enemies in need of retribution everywhere?
It’s best to simply ignore the troll. No need to defend yourself to a cultist. Ever.Nice try? It turns out I was mistaken. I don't try to bend reality to avoid it. I think I might have been confusing the debate with the timing outlined by Clooney's editorial, or maybe something else.
I still don't think Biden was nearly this incoherent as Trump. He finished that debate reasonably well. He didn't go on rambling tirades about how the UN should have let him renovate the UN building. My God.
Link?"Behold. The festering carcass of American rot shoved into an ill-fitting suit: the sleaze of a conman, the cowardice of a draft dodger, the gluttony of a parasite, the racism of a Klansman, the sexism of a back-alley creep, the ignorance of a bar-stool drunk, and the greed of a hedge-fund ghoul—all spray-painted orange and paraded like a prize hog at a county fair.
Not a president. Not even a man. Just the diseased distillation of everything this country swears it isn’t but has always been—arrogance dressed up as exceptionalism, stupidity passed off as common sense, cruelty sold as toughness, greed exalted as ambition, and corruption worshiped like gospel.
It is America’s shadow made flesh, a rotting pumpkin idol proving that when a nation kneels before money, power, and spite, it doesn’t just lose its soul—it shits out this bloated obscenity and calls it a leader."
See, I think Trump has all kinds of issues, but in the last 10 days, he flew to the UK for a bunch of formal crap and meetings and a sit down with Fox, then back to the USA, then to Arizona, including a speech and interviews, and then to the UN for a pretty unfortunate speech. Trump is a genuinely awful person but his ability to keep talking (lying/making stuff up, it’s true) and gaslighting and whatever is very different than Biden’s serious sundowning issues. That was one time after his long trip abroad and he was exhausted. I don't think it's fair to compare worst Biden to median Trump. Compare median Biden.
And anyway, he didn't decide to lecture the whole world incoherently for half an hour in the mental fog. He got out of it pretty quickly.
Start with his Mt. Everest sized pile of insecurities. It’s easy to understand how someone that empty and unloved turns so vengeful. And also easy to see how that resonates with the bitter and spiteful masses. Why does this administration see enemies in need of retribution everywhere?
I'm not defending Biden except to say that his brain was never the mush that Trump's is.See, I think Trump has all kinds of issues, but in the last 10 days, he flew to the UK for a bunch of formal crap and meetings and a sit down with Fox, then back to the USA, then to Arizona, including a speech and interviews, and then to the UN for a pretty unfortunate speech. I supported a lot of the Biden administration’s political goals, though increasingly less of their policy prescriptions, and they were absolutely tone deaf on some vital issues, but it is important to see a distinction just in terms of the public capacity of Biden v Trump. Trump may well have cognitive issues now (or always?), but they are very different from Biden in a way most Americans can easily recognize. And let’s see how that pans out for Trump in another year or two, I guess.
Defending the Biden cognitive and physical decline by comparison to the also notable but very different Trump decline is a politically losing proposition, IMO.
Given that Trump is a paranoid, insecure narcissist it's not hard to imagine him thinking that. That's the mental world that he lives in - he's surrounded by enemies who are constantly trying to humiliate him.Imagine coming upon an escalator that is temporarily stairs and the thought that crosses your mind is that you are being sabotaged.
He does that himself every day.Given that Trump is a paranoid, insecure narcissist it's not hard to imagine him thinking that. That's the mental world that he lives in - he's surrounded by enemies who are constantly trying to humiliate him.
