This is why folks like lawtig and myself have always been skeptical of this "economic pain" narrative about MAGA. Their behavior doesn't match their rhetoric. And given the long, long, long history of white Americans, especially white Southerners, of using concerns about "economic anxiety" as justifications for oppression of others, I'd say it's mostly just cover for their real motivations.yeah, i have a friend (ex-friend really, we haven't talked in years) who is full maga and her sister was relaying to me that ex-friend claimed to be sOoOoOoOo concerned about grocery prices.....as she and her husband bought a cyber truck and matching mini cyber truck ($1k+) for their toddler.
It's really difficult to talk to any MAGA person for any length of time and come away thinking, "yes, that is a person genuinely concerned about inflation." Because they aren't, and they show it on the regular.
There are things that get some of our MAGAs REALLY FUCKING UPSET. None of them pertain to economics.
