This is why folks like lawtig and myself have always been skeptical of this "economic pain" narrative about MAGA. Their behavior doesn't match their rhetoric. And given the long, long, long history of white Americans, especially white Southerners, of using concerns about "economic anxiety" as justifications for oppression of others, I'd say it's mostly just cover for their real motivations.

It's really difficult to talk to any MAGA person for any length of time and come away thinking, "yes, that is a person genuinely concerned about inflation." Because they aren't, and they show it on the regular.

There are things that get some of our MAGAs REALLY FUCKING UPSET. None of them pertain to economics.

and yeah, the cyber truck and mini cyber truck purchases aside, my ex-friend and her husband are relatively wealthy. her even floating that "concerned about grocery prices" BS at her sister was absurd and insulting as shit and that's exactly what her sister said to her.

Trump would use this to claim that Denmark is the aggressor justifying his use of the military against Greenland.

While it may not make a difference, it just isn’t worth it for Denmark to do that.
 
And I'm here for it all. As an Independent who did not vote for this trainwreck, this is all setting up to be the most entertaining four years of my life. At the end of Trump's next term, our country is going to be in shambles, and MAGA will have to own it all. Perhaps then, finally, we can come together as a nation and have a meaningful conversation about a better path forward—with liberty and justice for all. Until then, keep the Mai Tais flowin' please!

Also, I know that we're talking about a mouth-breathing idiot here, but shouldn't a Congressman know the difference between a territory (e.g. Greenland) and nations (i.e Canada and Panama)?

As others have said, MAGA won't care (or even acknowledge) that they've been duped but the economically illiterate moderates who determined the election will. Media needs to hold Orange Jesus' feet to the fire on this.
