I’m betting we are not seeing those files to any real extent during the life of this administration. Somewhere in those files the scythe of the grim reaper is reaching for someone important. Maybe Trump, maybe big supporter(s)… . Someone considered invaluable.

The fear of Trump sent the Democratic party into a proverbial tailspin. It's hard to believe that something that damning, not confidential and not limited by a court case wouldn't have been released.

Assuming that is true (and it appears to be the case subject to uncertainty about what they hacked but held back versus what they manufactured and leaked via other means), does this make anyone wonder what the Russians held back to leverage over Trump?

Well they didn't prosecute him day 1 of Biden's tenure either. They moved too slow , in my opinion, but whether Dems have not shown a willingness to stretch laws/break norms in the way Trump/MAGA has.

Its not surprising that they didn't release any Trump specific info (I think they should have) and still don't respond in kind to Trump.

Russia may have held back info on Trump, if it existed. It seems that they were more concerned, not surprisingly, about a Hillary win. I think most people were expecting a Hillary win.
 
I don’t know why, but shit like this always makes me think back to the infamous Zelenskyy/trump meeting at the WH. When it went off the rails Vance said something to the effect that Zelenskyy was trying this issue in the media. It was obvious then what Vance was doing because that’s been trump’s strategy for the entirety of his political career. They try their enemies in the public sphere with dubious claims because the vast majority of Americans have very little legal knowledge (me).

They’ve thrown a bunch of bullshit out there again that the media has to sift through and spend time and resources explaining and refuting. There never seems to be a long lasting political price paid for this obvious so they continue to do it over and over again.

I agree with the poster(s) mentioning just how much is being thrown out all at once right now. There has to be something really bad for trump and/or his buddies.

I’m going to mention this again. Magats are edgelords. They don’t need Obama, Hillary, Biden, et. al. locked up. It’s the anticipation that get’s them off. That and they’re just used to most everything in their sad little lives being disappointments.

Is releasing Intel on Russian election interference really stretching the law? They'd basically be doing what DNI is doing now and nobody seems overly concerned about the legality of it. It's viewed as necessary transparency...which we need more of.

No, because Russia did try to interfere and Team Trump was in communication with them and open to the help...even if not well coordinated.
 
The nail that stands up gets hammered down and I guarantee the right wing media would have rode it until the old nag died. In this administration, it wouldn't draw attention after the wrecking ball hit. The ass kissers in the captive media are too busy begging scraps and cowering in the corner to challenge Trump.

Btw, that's one big example of how the office of President is really misused.

LOL. None of this HRC shit is real. It's all bullshit, all the time. Don't you ever learn? Remember Comer's "whistleblower" who was going to expose the whole Biden family but actually was a felon facing indictment.

If what Putin supposedly had on HRC was remotely true, then HRC would be in terrible shape physically and probably near death if not already dead.
