So wait. Is the story now that the newly-discovered, "irrefutable evidence" Tulsi promised is the July 27, 2016 memo that was analyzed at length in the Durham report, and which Durham and his investigative team determined was likely fabricated by Russian spies to hurt Hillary's campaign? And every single corner of the right-wing infosphere is now running with the story that this (not new and certainly not reliable) document is a smoking gun that shows Hillary fabricated the Russian interference story?

We've had a bunch of braindead, facially-disproveable stories from the American right wing over the last few years, but this one has to be the stupidest of them all. As the guy said in that one post, CAN PEOPLE NOT READ????

yep. this feels like new, uncharted territory of lies and deception even for this group of long-time colossal liars. scary stuff.

it's up there with the big lie (2020), i reckon. pretty similar. all of the traitor/treason accusations feel really ominous, though. these people are running our country and are making these extremely serious accusations based on complete nonsense and lies. will they act on it?
 
So Republicans are now pointing to known Russian disinformation to "prove" their Russia hoax narrative. Very on brand.

And this is a whole-of-party effort in service of Dear Leader. I just don't see how our nation can recover from this descent into authoritarianism while the right wing disinformation apparatus continues to melt the minds of roughly half the American electorate. And we have no legal mechanism to dismantle their propaganda machine. Dark times ahead.

My initial thought when Tulsi started this shitshow was “sure, you just happened upon all this incriminating information that trumps people missed the first four years.” Then Patel today tweets that the FBI just found all this incriminating information in a back room at the FBI.

It inspires confidence that the heads of agencies tasked with intelligence gathering are tweeting straight up lies. This gets much worse before (if) it gets better.

It’s almost kind of funny that trump and his people think even less of magats than I do, and I think they’re the absolute worst of us.
