We'll see soon enough if the Biden Administration was lying when they said Congress needed to act in order to stop the flood of illegals into our country. Trump will have the same immigration laws to deal with as Biden, like he already had during his first term, and let's see what he is able to get done.

It is astonishing to me how party affiliation can convince supposedly rational people to be accepting of what has taken place at the borders over the past 4 years. We are talking about millions of people from all over the world just walking across, being flown across and coming straight on in....bused or flown to a neighborhood of their choosing....as long as that neighborhood isn't a neighborhood occupied by the people actually in charge of making these decisions.

We have no idea who these people are. How could we? You see how long it takes for the FBI to conduct a background investigation into a cabinet selection? How was there enough time to properly vet millions of immigrants just showing up at the border without becoming overwhelmed? Where did the answers come from pertaining to the identity of these millions of migrants? From the same countries who are so corrupt that it led to everyone trying to escape from them? What about the 2 million known gotaways? Who are they? Why did they still feel the need to sneak in when everyone else was just walking in and getting free transportation, free medical care, free housing, free food? How many more are unknown? Everybody knows the answers to these questions but yet it was good enough for some to see Alejandro Mayorkas lie to the entire nation about the border being secure. I guess the border was secure just like the gates around Kenan Stadium are secure but on any given Saturday 50+ thousand people will walk right into Kenan. Why? Because Carolina wants them there, just like the Biden Administration wanted all of these migrants here.

What about the hundreds of thousands of lost migrant children? Is anyone on the left concerned about them? I remember when pictures from the Obama Administration showing children in cages were used to stoke outrage towards Trump about separating families at the border. Are all the same people who were so concerned then not equally concerned (or more) now about migrant children actually being lost?

And lastly, where is all the money needed to take care of millions of indigent people supposed to come from in a country already 36 trillion in debit trying to take care of the responsibilities we already have? He's going to cut Social Security, he's going to cut Medicare, Social Security is going to go bankrupt, Medicare is going to go bankrupt, year after year, over and over again. How can anyone screaming those concerns now remain quiet while millions of people are allowed in who will consume the exact same resources?

So, now we will get to watch the liberal news media (the same media who ignored the millions of immigrants when they entered) try to get any and all footage of any illegal immigrant who is caught and detained pending deportation, even if that immigrant is a criminal who the Democrat run sanctuary cities have and are currently trying to protect while endangering their own citizens in the process, in their attempt to make the Trump Administration look as cruel as possible. All these people, many of which I'm sure are good hardworking people, may now be forced to go back to their home country....a country they likely would have never left had it not been for the Biden Administration rolling out the welcome mat.
1. Migrant workers are the best thing to happen to social security finances ever. They pay, and will never collect. Generally speaking, migrants are a boon to the country's economy. They produce economic benefits in excess of what they consume, and that only becomes more pronounced when you consider their children.

2. The debt has basically nothing to do with migrants. That's so stupid but it's on brand for you. Also, non-citizen, non-green card immigrants cannot actually collect Medicare or Social Security, but they do pay into it.

3. What's remarkable is how your party affiliation causes you to reject all facts and logic in favor of bullshit and misinformation.

4. We already know what Trump did on immigration. Jack shit until the pandemic. Most of the shit he talks about has already been found to be illegal by federal courts, including the Supreme Court on occasion (though pre-ACB).

5. Stop projecting your own ignorance. YOU clearly do not know "who these people are." That doesn't mean "we" don't. It just means you're a dumbass who confuses his own ignorance for a state of the world.

Would you consider someone with a documented history of alcohol abuse, sexual assault, misogyny, and Christian Nationalism mentally stable?
I suspect we're going to see the first 3 differently.

"Documented alcoholism" I assume is based on accusations of former Fox employee, many more employees have disputed the claim.

"Sexual assault" is an accusation for which there was no legal action ever taken.

"Misogyny" is probably a reference to his views on women in the military. It's a stretch to say that not lowering established physical requirements is "misogyny"

I'm not sure what the Christian Nationalism is a reference to.

You mean he's.....a Christian with a traditional Jerusalem Cross tattooed on his chest.

Because … he’s a Christian Nationalist?

You can do your tired hand wavy thing, now.
The linked article didn't provide much. He attends a church in Tennessee that is linked to a pastor in Idaho that is controversial. The article has a lot of generic "they" do this and "they" want that. Very broad-brush and indiscriminate. As an atheist, I'm more than happy to ridicule people for irrational religious views, but there just isn't much there to comment on.

He’s been getting obliterated by the gaming community for this. Some of the top Twitch streamers have been unloading on him for having someone else build the character up for him and then taking credit for being one of the top players in the world when he clearly doesn’t even know how to play the game.

Yes, in the grand scheme of things, it’s just video games, but it’s so on brand for this guy to take credit for the hard work and ingenuity of others.
But the hardcore gaming communities and the Musk schtuppers often operate in the same circle of the Venn diagram. Some are probably a bit conflicted on which outrage organ to stroke over this news.

Don’t worry about worker shortages. Many states have already relaxed child labor regulations. I’m sure more will follow.
If the GOP manages to totally destroy the idea of public education, children will need something to keep 'em off the streets. Don't want street urchins making mischief.

Um, we already have one. The US, Eritrea and Hungary are the only countries to tax its expatriates on worldwide income regardless of where income is earned.
yeah, and it freaking sucks.

I expect that, in a spirit of bipartisanship, they are going to invoke the spirit of their fellow populist, Andy Jackson and his crowning achievement, the Trail of Tears.
Nothing evil to see here... we are a Jesus loving nation. So passé is “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free”.

No. There are no two ways to see any of it.

- Documented Alcoholism refers to him admitting that he's had problems with alcohol abuse.
In August 2021, Pete Hegseth said on Will Cain’s podcast that slowly, surely, “by the grace of God,” he had been able to undo a pattern of alcohol abuse that had dogged him since he returned from military combat in Iraq in 2006
I'm not going to list all the examples. There are many. And you know full well that he has an admitted documented history of it.

- Sexual Assault refers to the incident in which he restrained a woman from leaving a motel room and then sexually assaulted her. There were no formal charges because he entered into a settlement agreement with his accuser.

- Misogyny refers to the numerous statements made throughout the years about women serving in combat roles. It has nothing to do with lowering standards for them. He specifically stated that women should NOT serve in combat roles.

- Christian Nationalism refers to the Christian battle cry he has on his arm. A phrase championed by the proud boys and extremists who participated in J6.

So we can continue to engage in this inane bullshittery or you can answer my question. Would you consider someone with a documented history of alcohol abuse, sexual assault, misogyny, and Christian Nationalism mentally stable?

cross tattoos are the worst. They are for people who really want a tattoo but are afraid of the stigma of having one. So, they get a cross tattoo.
But I’m sure Christianity is really important to the serial philandering, sexual assaulting drunkard.
