There are four terms by which I say you can gauge a moron.

1. They call other people "sheep."
2. They call other people "sheeple."
3. They say, "your ilk."
4. They describe themselves as a "free thinker."
Disagree with “your ilk.”

MAGAts, Trumplicans, and average “conservatives” can’t spell “ilk;” much less use it in a sentence.

Trump got bitch-slapped. He backed down, showing the world what a pussy he really is.

Hey Pubs, from previous posts, you've proposed "is the world laughing at us" as the measure of foreign policy. Well, the world is laughing at us. As well they should. So fucking frustrating.

Well you always have Russia.

Honestly, I still think the euros at some point will say "Fuck it" and go on their own.
What's going to happen at the end of this is a permanent change in the world's reserve currency. I would also expect some countries explore the idea of prohibiting the use of dollars as collateral (except possibly for dollar->dollar deals). You have to prohibit it or there's a first mover problem, but I gotta think everyone would feel much better if there were a trillion euros worth of repos worldwide as opposed to a trillion dollars.

They should.

Taiwan is fucked.

Maybe South Korea, Japan, Australia, Indonesia, and Philippines can create an Asian NATO. They need India. As long as India has its own Trump, India is fucked. Which means most of Asia is fucked.

Republican Senators Call on Trump to Rethink Revoked Security Details

Senators Lindsey Graham and Tom Cotton said that the former Trump aides faced continuing threats from Iran and that the decision could affect how current officials do their jobs.

“… Senator Tom Cotton, Republican of Arkansas and the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, and Senator Lindsey Graham, Republican of South Carolina, spoke after Mr. Trump abruptly halted government security protection for three officials from his first time who were involved in his Iran policy and have remained under threat.

One of them, John R. Bolton, Mr. Trump’s third national security adviser, has been a vocal critic of Mr. Trump since departing the administration in 2019. The other two, his former secretary of state Mike Pompeo and another former top State Department official, Brian Hook, have been supportive of Mr. Trump. His decision to pull their details surprised and alarmed some of the president’s allies.

“I would encourage the president to revisit the decision for those people who are being targeted by Iran, as the president was targeted for assassination by Iran,” Mr. Cotton said on Fox News. He said he had reviewed current intelligence and that the threats remained real.

… Mr. Graham deflected a question about whether the withdrawal of protection amounted to retribution by Mr. Trump against Mr. Bolton but said, “The question is, do you deserve protection because you served an administration, you stood up to a foreign adversary, and they want to kill you?"

Mr. Trump has also pulled the security for Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, the infectious disease expert who advised the first Trump administration during the coronavirus pandemic. Dr. Fauci has been a target of Mr. Trump’s political base for almost five years including threats against his life. …”
Dr. Fauci is under a much greater threat from MAGAts and domestic terrorists than Pompeo or Bolton are from Iranians.

How is it possible to quantify this (even if you did have access to all the relevant intelligence)?

This seems like a complete WAG.

It’s an opinion.

Also, Pompeo has been out-of-the-news since 1/20/21……the Iranians likely have forgotten him.

Form a mental picture of Mike Pompeo? Can you? He could be in my kitchen right now and I’d have ask him, “Who are you?”

John Bolton? He might be a bit more in danger because he’s such a camera whore. Still, if he shaved the porn stach, he’s good to go.

Who in America wants to kill Pompeo or Bolton?

The MAGAts that occupied/surrounded the Michigan Capitol or the Oregon Wildlife Refuge?

A significant percentage would harm Fauci.

Maybe Pompeo’s Ozempic weight loss will fool the Iranians.

So did the Colombian president back down or not? I keep seeing conflicting things about that
Trump holding off on tariffs after Colombia agrees to accept deported migrants on military planes, White House says

Isn’t that what the crypto bros, who now litter Trump’s administration and camp out at MAL, are counting on?

It looks to me like Trump got exactly what he wanted - Colombia is now accepting the deportees on military planes.

I think it’s no harm no foul if you only look at this one situation but what Trump and his buffoons never understand is everything can’t be a fight. The world is complex. Provoking a fight on everything is stupid and wasteful. He huffs and puffs around and then when it lands back to where it was anyway - he claims victory when in reality, it was status quo and it was net negative because now relationships are strained.

Colombia accepted over 120 planes last year under Biden, an average of one every three days, without complaint or the US showing their ass. They accepted over 400 altogether. Trump "gained" something that was already there while making an ass out of himself and our country. This was theater and bad theater at that.

Trump holding off on tariffs after Colombia agrees to accept deported migrants on military planes, White House says

And once again, the media doing Trump's bidding by reporting misleading info from the White House.

Let's be clear: Colombia has been accepting deported migrants on flights for years. They did it under Biden as well. The difference is that under Biden, they had pre-authorization to do it and didn't bring the migrants back to Colombia on military planes and in handcuffs.

Petro didn't accept the flights because they were military planes entering Colombia without any pre-authorization, instead of the civilian planes that the Biden administration used for the job. So of course he hand them turned away. This new round of negotiations, the one that right-wingers like to say that Trump forced Petro to back down on, was nothing more than Petro laying some ground rules for Trump to follow: Yes, we'll accept the flights as we've always done. But the migrants won't be handcuffed, and you'll need to get pre-authorization ahead of time.

It's unclear whether the military planes would be allowed. Trump's press secretary claims that Petro agreed to all his demands, including the use of military planes. Petro tweeted after the deal was reached that he would allow the flights on the condition that they arrived on civilian planes. I tend to believe him over Leavitt since she's already lied about Petro capitulating to all of Trump's demands. It sounds like Trump was the one capitulating in order to accomplish the same goal that the Biden administration had already accomplished over the last couple of years without using strongarm tactics.

The article I posted seems to say basically of that. Under the agreement, military planes can be used, which is what Trump wanted, but the deportees won't be in handcuffs - what Petro wanted.

It made Trump look like the wimp he is. His idea was to be a rough ,tough bully and he ended up saying, "Please, Mr. Petro, is it okay if I use military planes? I promise to be more respectful." He also looked stupid for starting this in the first place.

I think Trump overreacted, which isn't surprising, but he also got what he wanted - use of military planes.

Not sure where you get the groveling vibe.

Trump backed down. No tariffs, no handcuffs, no tough guy posturing. What difference do the planes make? That wasn't the real point and you know it. He wanted to look like a tough guy with the military hauling them off in literal chains. He ended up looking stupid.
