I.e. there isn’t an appreciable limitation on his power.Not legal but he can’t be punished for it. So there is nothing stopping him fro trying.

POTUS can Federalize/Nationalize the National Guard.Does Tom Homan realize that blue states have National Guard and that National Guard have guns, if necessary?
Does the president have full power to hire or fire military leaders at will? I've never considered that issue before. There have to be some limits, right? Maybe not.2. There are already plans to get rid of a lot of generals and most government employees who are not sufficient loyal to Trump.

Of course, Congress could always give Trump that power.Does the president have full power to hire or fire military leaders at will? I've never considered that issue before. There have to be some limits, right? Maybe not.
POTUS can’t easily remove someone from the Army, but can reassign them to a broom closet at Ft. Johnson (formerly Polk).Does the president have full power to hire or fire military leaders at will? I've never considered that issue before. There have to be some limits, right? Maybe not.
That remains to be seen. It depends on how he wants to use it. One would hope that our top brass would refuse to follow illegal orders.
he could also bring them up on whatever charges they see fit. It's not like fascists have an honor code.10 USC §1161
§1161. Commissioned officers: limitations on dismissal
(a) No commissioned officer may be dismissed from any armed force except-
(1) by sentence of a general court-martial;
(2) in commutation of a sentence of a general court-martial; or
(3) in time of war, by order of the President.
Those security guards are big dudes.Yes he is. 6-8 apparently.
Maybe, but Judge Advocates who would prosecute such cases are probably the most anti-Trump area of the Army. The lesser-known Vindman brother was a JAG and very popular within the JAG community. Military judges also don’t work the same way as the rest of the federal judiciary, as they are not appointed by POTUS, but rather by the Judge Advocate General, and a new TJAG just started a new 5 year term this year. Thats not to say there aren’t pro-Trump JAGs, but they’re definitely rarer than pro-Trumpers in other parts of the Army.he could also bring them up on whatever charges they see fit. What about the 'up or out' system? Was that just an informal policy where they give you a crap assignment to get you out if you weren't getting promoted?10 USC §1161

I think for officers you could remain but would be dropped down to enlisted rank.What about the 'up or out' system? Was that just an informal policy where they give you a crap assignment to get you out if you weren't getting promoted?
