Hell yeah

I have purposely ignored the politics threads after the election, but I can't take this crap anymore. Trump is a joke. His first term was a joke and his second one is going to be even worse. I can't believe the majority of people in this country are dumb enough, racist enough, bigoted enough, sexist enough, and greedy enough to vote for this moron. Not only is he a moron, he is a horrible person who only cares about himself. Anyone who voted for him is truly some combo of selfish, stupid, racist, sexist and bigoted in their heart. Even people I considered friends and in my own family. They might act like a nice person, but voting for Trump.shows your true colors and what your soul is really made of. It is sad and sickening. It doesn't even come down to policies, even though his policies won't help the majority of Americans more than Kamala’s would have. A convicted felon, a cheat, a fraud, a grifter, someone who bragged about sexually assaulting women, and a narcissistic sociopath shouldn't even be considered for President, no matter what his policies are.

Trump is 25th proofing his cabinet.
The 25th??? The fucking Justice Department couldn't get this guy. The most powerful DA in the country got him, but they can't keep him. The people serving under the first article of our constitution have barely been able to touch him. I think Trump is in the running for the Worst American in History, but the 25th Amendment has a less than zero chance of doing anything about it. Teflon Don doesn't just happen. It happens because 49.9% of the country wants it to happen.

The one thing I’ve seen Kennedy propose that I would be all for is ending pharmaceutical ads on tv and radio. It is probably too late since so many people get their news and infotainment online anyway, but I always thought it was a mistake when the Clinton Administration permitted pharma ads back in the 1990s.

OTOH, that would almost immediately starve cable tv of a key source of ad revenue.

But that is not at all worth having Kennedy having any say over US health policy.
This SCOTUS would probably overturn those laws with some expansion of commercial speech.

On Sean Duffy appointment notes previously:

I know very little about Duffy, but MAGA is swooning …

I thought there was already a case about pharma ads. But whether or not it's already the law, it will be. The idiots have committed themselves to a ridiculous First Amendment doctrine of "content-neutrality" which doesn't make sense and has never been the law, but whatever.

I'm not saying it's wise. But Trump is a paranoid motherfucker.

I hear you. And I wasn't criticizing your comment. I just think we're now in a world where the 25th is among the least of Trump's concerns. There's little that can stop him now other than the inevitable -- and agonizingly painful -- repercussions of what he's certain to do over the next few years.

Which is 100% on you, Pubs! You own EVERYTHING going forward. We'd better see one hell of next few years.

I do think it is absolutely mesmerizing that the same exact people that that have been screaming about groomers and pedophiles and child sex traffickers over the last several years, are conspicuously silent when we have an actual groomer, pedophile, child sex trafficker likely to become the Attorney General the United States.

It’s almost…..wait, nah, it couldn’t be, could it? It’s almost like…. and stay with me here… it’s almost like it was never about “saving the children”!!!!

They always project. I really think Trump was with some women that his buddy Epstein was trafficking.

1. I was counting RFK in charge of HHS
2. CMS guides a shit ton of what we do in primary care

eta- shuddering who is going to Surgeon General
I think Oz should be reassuring. This tells me (and I could be wrong) that Trump has no real intention of touching health policy. Rather, it's Trump eating Project 2025's faces.

Remember: Trump didn't exactly ask for Project 2025. That was a Christmas tree that Heritage packaged together with its efforts to screen out all potentially disloyal staffers. And this is Trump saying, "thank you for your employment agency services. BTW I don't give a fuck about your policies. All I want is power."
