1. The crisis was started by Trump;
2. Trump convinced Mexico to ***REDUCE*** their troop level at the border;
3. Absolutely nothing was done about fentanyl;
4. Americans fear for their jobs and people lost a lot of money in the trading dip this morning (though I don't feel badly for day traders)
5. Trump has shown the world how easily he can be rolled;
6. Business investment in America will suffer because of Trump's unpredictability and stupidity

WINNING!1!!1! The whole world is literally laughing at America.

Oh, and Canada agreed to create a fictitious position in their government. YAY!!

The terrorist designation means that people can't send money to the cartels. People already can't send money to the cartels under the Drug Enforcement Act, various anti-money laundering statutes, and federal reserve regulations.

I don't think in Canada there are *any* consequences to being declared a terrorist organization. I don't think Canada has any special laws that would apply. About that, I could be wrong as I'm no expert in Canadian law. But it is 100% true that the cartels are exactly as safe and cushy today as they were last week.

Trump is all theater. He accomplishes nothing except to destroy the credibility of the United States.
 
Let's not forget, the Dow dropped over 600 points this morning. If tariffs went into effect and stayed in effect, I strongly believe the stock market response would have gotten much worse.

I, for one, am not in favor of playing russian roulette with the economy for dubious results.
 
Anyone remember when Homer Simpson got promoted to safety inspector and accidents decreased dramatically?
Mr. Burns took that as a sign that Homer must be a fantastic inspector.
Withers pointed out that accidents decreased by the same amount that Homer caused in his prior position.

Not sure what made me think of that.

Okay, back to Trump saving us from disaster.

And let’s not forget he is causing high interest rates, and our business partners are probably making plans to find new markets, like they did with the tariffs from his first go ‘round.

Colombia and Venezuela also caved to Trump’s will. He even got six detainees released.

Trump’s admittedly coming out hot on the tariff issue. Things will calm down by June once he has all “the good trade deals” in place.

You're funny. What did Trump get for Colombia "caving"? Literally nothing.

And Venezuela -- you think that is a good thing? They didn't cave. THEY WANT THEIR PEOPLE BACK. People are fleeing Venezuela because its economy is an utter and complete disaster. So they had legal status here; now we're sending them back. Guess where they are going to go next?

Trump took a bunch of immigrants with legal status and created a whole lot of new migrants. WINNING!1@!

According to the Trump folks - Venezuela is a hardcore left-wing repressive authoritarian regime (and they probably are). So what he is doing is sending folks who have fled a left wing dictator back to that dictator. It would be like sending dissidents who escaped the Soviet Union in the 70s and 80s back to the USSR.
