Literally everything you ever post is inaccurate, chief. Why would I waste my time responding to them point-by-point? I'd do it if I thought it might help change your mind or at the very least open your mind to considering other possibilities, but it won't, so I won't. I'm not here to humor you. I'm here to tell you that everything you post is steeped in the dumbest, most easily refuted right wing propaganda bullshit that the internet has to offer. I don't care how that makes you feel.
It's really true. Like I started to provide links to data that showed his points are BS, but then I thought what's the point? He's allergic to learning.

He's terrible at it. Dumb bastard even let on that I got in his head. What self respecting troll would do that? Just pitiful.
Not surprising that a person who resorts to personal insults would also think far too highly of themselves. Responding in-kind doesn't mean you get into my head. It's literally just a tit-for tat to make you aware that you're a prick and that I know you're a prick.

Exactly. I'd be more than happy to provide points of rebuttal line by line if I thought that it wouldn't be the biggest waste of time I've ever committed.

Yeah, I've posted most of that stuff already from immigration to drug trafficking from neutral and/or right leaning sources. I'm not going to continue to spoon feed mouth breathing MAGATs to no point. That's especially true when they NEVER provide any sort of real links other than the blathering of some cheap political whore.

What personal insult? You took umbrage because you acted like you had a less than third grade understanding of civics so I responded to you in kind. Don't play naif and then demand respect.

Same thing happened during COVID. They simply don't care what the facts are, and are willing to literally die to preserve their ignorance.

"You’d prefer they are “housed” on the street?'

No straw-manning allowed. Please try again.
You’re just going to disregard the rest of the post, huh? You know, the whole part of it being legal, approved, and the money congressionally funded?

And you appear to be complaining that taxpayers are paying for this, so my question was perfectly appropriate. What’s your solution?

America is growing tired of the party who thinks it is fine to ignore American citizens in the mountains of NC while they live in tents while at the same time, tries to sneak $59 million out the back door of the EPA to send to New York in order to provide luxury accommodations to people who are not only not American citizens, but who are also here illegally. That on top of the billions already spent. And this is only one example of the many.

But by all means Democrats, keep doing you. Keep exposing what is really important to your party. America needs to know.
When was the last time you went to the mountains to help?

they live in tents while at the same time, tries to sneak $59 million out the back door of the EPA to send to New York
And why were those migrants in New York? Because Abbott and DeSantis bussed them there. And you loved that, even when the price tag was pointed out to you. We specifically had this conversation, you and me, at least a couple of times on the old board. The conversation went something like this:

Me: Why are they busing people from Mexico into a winter storm when they don't even have a coat? It seems cruel for the sake of cruel
You: Because now you elites in the cities will understand the burdens that migrants place on communities.
Me: I understand that. That's why the migrant costs are paid by the federal government
You: Oh, so you want to spend our taxpayer money on this
Me: I don't want to do anything. I'm just pointing out that it doesn't make sense to complain about costs while sending the people to the most expensive real estate in the country
You: You elites think you're better than us?
Me: It's got nothing to do with that. Cities are inherently more expensive. Since it's all coming out of the same pot of money, all your homies are doing is costing the taxpayer money
You: [rants about how I lack common sense, or intelligence, or whatever insults you hurl in gross]
Me: I'm not going to argue about this any more. If you think this is a good use of taxpayer money to make your "point," I mean, sure. Just don't come back in a couple of years and complain about the costs
Rest of Board: Oh, he will.
Me: I know.

*****
And right on cue, you're complaining about the costs exactly as I predicted. Care to retract your spittle-flecked insults and apologize?

Of course, the problem is that the migrants are actually not here illegally. They are awaiting an immigration hearing. There are way too few ALJs to process the claims, which is why the average wait time is like 8 years. And during those 8 years, we have to house them, and because they have no work authorization, they can't do anything. They are in essence wards of the state.

Do you know what attempted to fix this problem? The bipartisan immigration bill which, among other things, vastly increased the number of ALJs to process asylum claims. That would cut the backlog of cases, and thus require us to house the migrants for much less time. I think the bill also allowed migrants to have work authorizations (upon application, maybe?), but I'm not sure about that.

Point is: this is a problem entirely of YOUR making. At every step of the way, YOU CHEERED the decisions that put migrants in NYC hotels. YOUR SIDE DID THIS.

Maybe next time, instead of calling me names, you could learn a few things.

That's why, imo and by their logic, every immigration problem since the immigration bill failed is on the MAGAts' head.

Right, more details are needed but most any hotel in NY city is going to be a more expensive option than non-NY city hotel or using a vacant building, etc...
1. Vacant building? Are you serious? You are simultaneously complaining about migrants carrying drugs over the border, and housing them in vacant buildings? Have you ever heard of a crack house?

2. This was why it was a bad idea to bus the migrants to NYC in the first place. Your side did that. Check out my response to pandemicblue on the other thread for explication.

In short, your team did this. It's entirely on you. So own it and stop whining.

Ok. So, if we're talking about matters related to use of federal funding, which I'm assuming is what is in question here, which district judge would have jurisdiction over the Executive branch? DC?
Would you like an explainer? I'll be happy to provide one, but only if you're going to learn from it and not argue with me. Asking questions to understand is fine. Asking questions to challenge me, when I'm providing a public service, is not OK.

This is probably the only message board in the entire country where you can get explainers from law professors for free. Whether you take advantage of that is up to you.

Who decided use NY hotels vs a Motel 6 in the Bronx or housing them in a vacant building or other fiscally responsible options.
This is about NYC's handling of housing immigrants, I suspect any federal money is going to similarly situated housing...

While a few upscale hotels such as the Roosevelt have been converted to shelter migrants, the majority are housed in more affordable establishments, and none in five-star hotels.

Eric Trump said in a speech at the Republican National Convention, “illegal immigrants are housed in the most expensive hotels in New York,” but Sean Hennessey, a hotel industry adviser, told the New York Times it is primarily two-star hotels that are housing undocumented migrants.

New York City entered into a contract of up to $980 million with a hotel trade group to pay hotels that decide to shelter migrants under its “Sancturary Hotel Program.”

Most of those hotels were deep in debt, facing foreclosure or had received poor reviews from guests. About half were brand names including Courtyard, Holiday Inn Express, SpringHill Suites and Super 8.

The city contract requires hotels hosting migrants to pick up trash, do housekeeping every other day and provide fresh towels.

Explainers are good, so yes.
