Absolute gift to liberals IMO. Gaetz is hilariously unqualified to be AG. You may be able to count on one hand the number of times he's been in a courtroom representing clients. And if he gets confirmed (huge if, IMO - he has few friends among establishment Republicans) he will do the job of AG so loudly and cartoonishly poorly that it will help turn people against Trump.

It is one thing to prosecute those people and another thing entirely to get a conviction. Gaetz trying to persecute the Clintons, Bidens, and Fauci on trumped-up charges (no pun intended) will be a massive strategic error, IMO. Trumpism does not have nearly the ideological mandate it thinks it does and that stuff will turn off everyone. You can't run on ending lawfare then just openly do 5x more lawfare than ever before. His MAGA base will love it but everyone else will hate it.

Doubt it's a matter of lawyers with no scruples saying no to Trump, it's Trump is picking the worst people he can because he knows no one will stop him. If you make your entire cabinet as bad as you, then "fuck everyone I will do what I want. "

He's not picking the worst people he can, he's just picking the people most loyal to him. Those people just happen to also be the worst people.

Anyway, seems like a great way to lose a charge of transporting underage women over state lines for sex work is to become AG.

Trump does not care about legislation at all. He wants to do everything by executive order anyway, and he is surrounded by zealots (like Stephen Miller) who want to drastically increase presidential power and minimize Congress's role in everything.
