Kamal was woefully unprepared foreign policy and would have struggled to project strength. However, I have little doubt she would have been able to put competent people in place in the crucial cabinet positions. And even with her shortcomings she would have been a better option than Trump.

Trump years for the days of isolationism. It's not just putting AmericaFirst...it should really be America Only. Everything is a win-lose transaction. He did more damage to NATO in his first term than the Russians could ever hope to do (that's why Putin never moved an inch). In this term we will see the end of NATO and the world will become a much more dangerous place.

There was ample evidence he expected Ukraine to fold within weeks. IIRC, there were reports that many of the Russian officers brought full dress regalia with them in anticipation of a parade through Kyiv.

Wayne, the gift that keeps on giving. You're just another prime example of why the dem party is flailing in the wind. Its ok to recognize the fraud DOGE is presenting. You're a taxpayer too. I see the left only offers hate and dismisses govt waste and fraud every chance they get.

DOGE is definitely presenting itself as a fraud.

Fwiw, I'd rather dismiss waste and fraud (which, needless to say, I don't) than to elect it president.

They've presented no fraud. And they've presented no evidence of fraud. And the reason they've presented no evidence is because they don't have to. They aren't required to be transparent with the American public. They just say stuff, and you swallow it whole. It's obvious you aren't the brightest bulb in the closet, but what little capacity you've ever had for logic and critical thinking has been poisoned by too many hours on X soaking up Elon Musk's misinformation highway. You're the type of ignorant mark that con men like Donald Trump and Elon Musk have been exploiting their entire careers.

His whole strategy the last year or so was to run out the clock on Western democracies. The electorate in those countries was not going to support a perpetual war...even if its pennies on the dollar standing up to the Russians in Ukraine than elsewhere.

And while I'm bitching about things...the Germans going off nuclear was so incredibly stupid.

The problem with your rationale is you're assuming there is no fraud and the govt is doing everything effectively and efficiently.
 
Just learned that a good friend of mind has been laid off from a job she loved because it was connected to USAID. She's devastated, and there is no good reason for her to lose that job, or for any of these people to lose their jobs. And unfortunately I'm sure that she won't be the last person I know personally who will lose their job and perhaps career (and maybe even more) because of this insanity and idiocy and pure greed. And that's all any of this is. Just infuriating to see good, hard-working, and competent people getting hurt because of the insanity and chaos that is Trump 2.0. But I guess the cruelty is the point, as others have noted.

So the way to fix that is to literally gut the government and abolish whole departments and agencies that have existed and done good work for decades, and fire millions of government workers and cut off vital research funding for things like cancer and vaccine research? I'm sorry but that's insane and wildly impractical. It's like cutting off an entire arm to get rid of a hangnail.

What's the basis for this claim? Compare Kamala's preparation in foreign policy to the following presidents prior to them taking office:

Trump
Obama
GWB
Clinton

A couple of them did pretty well on foreign policy. Bush 41 had extensive foreign policy experience. I can't remember whether Reagan did or not.

That's what is so crazy about all this. By arming Ukraine we were helping to bleed the Russian military dry and hurting Putin without sacrificing anything ourselves, other than the money we were spending to supply Ukraine with weapons. For us it was a win-win situation. And now Trump is going to screw it all up because he's a Putin and dictator fanboy and wants to help him out. Again, it's crazy time in US foreign policy, even more so than it was in his first term. Kiss up to our enemies and rivals and piss off all of our allies to the maximum degree possible. And this time it will likely take years to fix the damage, if that will even be possible.

And the problem with your rationale is you have none.

You disagree with spending money that Congress has already appropriated. Fine. That doesn't make it waste, or fraud. And to date, all DOGE has done is disrupt that spending.

There has been no actual evidence of fraud or misappropriation of funds, but there has been evidence of misappropriation of classified information and taxpayers PII.

The person you voted for for president cannot run a charity in New York, and has felony convictions, both on grounds of fraud. Proven in court.

Don't pretend you actually give a shit. about fraud. Drop the fig leaf.
