I can’t believe you. Sure there is corruption in Mexico’s police, government and military. But guess what? The corruption exists worldwide. Al Capone’s biggest cost of doing business at the height of his power was graft. The problem is there is just too much money involved in these illegal operations for some people not to have their hands out. But bombing the shit out of suspected cartel assets isn’t going to solve the problem. The problem lies in demand in this country for the drugs. Even if military action could eliminate a cartel (which it can’t), another group would step in to fill the void. Addressing the demand problem in this country is something all administrations have failed at. However, addressing that issue successfully is the only way to eliminate the drug problem. Once again, how would you feel if Mexico carried out military operations in this country? And please don’t give the stupid answer of “Fuck Mexico.” That’s the answer an ignorant redneck would give. But, then again, maybe I’m giving you too much credit.

I think Thiel was the former puppet master, he's a lot more vulnerable these days and seemed to have backed off from outright political operations a few years ago. Its not necessarily Heritage who has interest in him but Rebekah Mercer, who sits on the Heritage board. Shes invested in a number of Vance's ventures.

Also, I think people really overlook Usha, which is rather amazing amidst all of the rightful criticism of who is behind Vance. Other than some anti-Indian rhetoric coming from the nativist right, very few are digging into who Usha is, her own questionable past, and who her family really is as well. For example, how many people talk about how the current VP's wife once was employed by the CCP? Let's look at her father, a man who worked in the aerospace industry for many years (despite being a foreign born immigrant), which normally wouldn't be such an issue, except when it turns out the very company her father worked for many years, Collins Aerospace, turned out to have been in several controversies regarding the theft of American aerospace tech which then got handed over to the Chinese (see below).

The charging letter reveals that most of the underlying violations stem from improper jurisdiction and classification efforts that were undertaken by Collins Aerospace personnel. According to the letter, on a number of occasions from 2014 through 2023, Collins Aerospace employees routinely engaged in unauthorized exports of controlled technical data to foreign person employees based on a misapplication of the ITAR’s “specially designed” definition and release criteria. As a result, Collins Aerospace personnel caused data related to USML Category VIII(i), and connected to the production of Boeing’s E-3 Sentry Airborne Early Warning and Control Aircraft, as well as the Embraer KC-390 Millennium, and F-22 Raptor, to be released to Chinese nationals employed at its facilities in Cedar Rapids and Shanghai.

In a related incident, RTX Corporation also illegally exported technical data connected to the “aluminum display housing component” of the F-22 Raptor to at least four (4) entities physically situated in the PRC as part of a formal request for quotation (“RFQ”), operating under the false assumption that both the component and related technical data were actually controlled under the auspices of the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”). In a separate series of incidents that occurred between March 2015 and May 2023, Collins Aerospace personnel further illegally exported Category XI(d) technical data to a number of entities located in the PRC, again as part of its RFQ process. An internal investigation into the root cause of the latter violation ultimately revealed that Collins Aerospace personnel had erroneously relied on the contents of a 2015 memorandum contemplating the future commercial exploitation of certain circuit card assemblies in radio devices that never came to fruition.

We need to be hitting Usha a lot harder, I'd say there is a half decent chance her and her family are tied up into some foreign espionage, very likely tied to the BJP (Modi's party). It was also reported in Indian press that Usha's family are in India's version of the Proud Boys. There are so many questions as to what she's really up to, and what if she is in fact, JD's ultimate handler and not so much these tech bros? Whose really dictating things?

EPA administrator Lee Zeldin announced on Feb. 13 that his staff and Department of Government Efficiency officials discovered that the Biden administration parked that same $20 billion at an outside financial institution before leaving office, limiting the federal government’s oversight of the program.
 
Since something like 85%+ of fentanyl comes into the U.S. via U.S. citizens - who I presume are not Mexican cartel members- at legal ports of entry, are we going to drone strike them, too?

I remember when I was a Republican, I used to think that the way to solve the issue of all of the bad guys in the world was to just sic the U.S. military on them and bomb them into oblivion. Then, I grew up, got over my immature fetish of thinking that we can simply do whatever the fuck we want because we have a strong military, other countries and other people be damned, and I joined the real world where there’s tons of nuance and gray area and no easy solutions to complex problems. Coincidentally, I was no longer Republican by that time!

It goes without saying: fuck the cartels, fuck criminals. But also, fuck people who think that violation of another country’s sovereignty and probable collateral damage of its citizens is the proper way to conduct our affairs.

This is the moment most left of center perspectives cement, in my experience.

Just look at maga, every problem is a nail - just swing a hammer at it, ie a strongman, a bully, a daddy, threats, and violence. Sure, there’s the unending selfishness of the right, but in the aggregate, the unwillingness (usually out of unreflected insecurity) or inability to perceive and respect nuance functionally lies at the heart of their consistently predictable simplistic “solutions” and poorly reinforced logic. Sometimes it’s a genuine lack of intelligence, but often it’s a lack of exposure to a world of complexity. That’s why Heritage et al. has sought to destroy public education, for decades.

The problem is creating lies about problems that don't exist and wasting money on solutions that aren't needed and /or don't work provided by con men who steal from us. I'd refer to you to the record of all the graft that occurred during Covid but Trump squashed the investigations and hid the records.
