Trump already sent someone to do this visit a few years ago -- coincidentally timed with the solar eclipse passing over Ft. Knox.

Honestly it probably would have happened in 2024 if Trump had won in 2020. I'm gonna be wondering for a long time whether we would have been better off if Trump had won in 2020 then gotten swept out in the post-COVID inflation election sort of like the British conservative party did.

But I'm not giving up hope that we will see it at the ballot box in 2026 then in 2028. The stuff they are going is not gonna work or be popular. I'm confident they're going to try to find an excuse to mail every American a check for $2500 or something in an effort to buy goodwill. But they're not bringing the deficit down, they're not bringing inflation or prices down, they're not gonna solve the border or end crime. People are gonna hate it. I really do think that. It's just a question of how many things will be too broken to fix when they're done.

Trump will be the cuck in the corner.
 


Trump says a lot of stuff, though, and tariffs are the one soft spot for his otherwise cultish support for any crazy thing he says in this administration. On tariffs, they keep finding ways to slow walk his wishes.

MAGAts and Trumplicans will react to Trump and Musk having “conflicts of interest” with the federal government and benefiting financially from them the same way they reacted to Trump not paying taxes.

NPR is going to wind up on the chopping block soon with this type of reporting.
 
Musk’s threat was condemned by Everett Kelley, president of the American Federation of Government Employees, one of the unions suing OPM.

“Once again, Elon Musk and the Trump Administration have shown their utter disdain for federal employees and the critical services they provide to the American people,” Kelley said in a statement.

“It is cruel and disrespectful to hundreds of thousands of veterans who are wearing their second uniform in the civil service to be forced to justify their job duties to this out-of-touch, privileged, unelected billionaire who has never performed one single hour of honest public service in his life,” Kelley said.
