I know a lot of folks don't like Elon but he has been beating the drum on the risks of artificial intelligence for a while. It was an early funder of openai when it was a non-profit.

This is billionaires fussing at each other but he is really not happy with Sam Altman for his cavalier attitude to safety and his taking openai for profit.

Hey, I enjoy those genres, but the genres aren't the problem - it's the lack of media literacy and appreciation that comes from being more broadly read.

I enjoy those genres as well, but I don’t think they present a model for the real world like Musk and Thiel seem to.
