Paxton says Texas is prepared to buy all the materials and donate it back to the Feds.

How much of this has been verified? If it has, and the sources seem awfully dubious, why are they selling? Certain materials have shelf lives and if they are being sold while they still have some value then it's not necessarily even sneaky or misguided.

Seems like the blame lies with Trump in ordering more than he could use during his administration to me.

It seems fairly legit. There are screenshots of from the auction site.

Typical shocking excerpted byline, but is there not truth to Elon’s framing of the problem?
From what I've read homelessness has shifted. Due to the housing market and other inflationary/cost of living issues more people are homeless simply because they don't make enough. So, no all are not drugged out mentally ill people.

And for those that fall into one of the categories of drug user or mentally ill person, are all of them "violent"? I wouldn't agree.

So no, I don't agree that there is truth in his hyperbole.

It’s not a lie, they are homeless, but if a significant amount of these people are this afflicted, focusing on the “homelessness”, as opposed to the root cause of that homelessness shifts the focus away from what *may* be a failure of policy/government.
Then focus on the higher percentage root causes and don't demonize homeless people as only being "violent druged out mentally ill" people.

Just remember that veterans are overrepresented in the homeless population. They're a little less than 10% of the population and a little over 12 % of the homeless. Musk can go fuck himself.
But politicians love our military and our veterans.

It's so clear in how much lobbing is required for policy to support victims of burn pits and other exposures that create a high percentage of PTSD and other mental traumas in our military service men and women.

We as a country, owe them more.

Are these the same people that claimed FEMA was taking supplies from people and arresting people for trying to help hurricane victims?

If they want a wall, why can't it be something like the great wall of China, instead of ugly steel that can be tunneled under and climbed over.

Trump nominees are threatening to lock up a lot of government officials these days.

This seems like political pettiness. Biden, or more likely his handlers, are setting up the argument that the wall cost x many more millions of dollars so they can hammer Republicans in the next election. I'm all for hammering Republicans for the cost of the wall but I'm not all for wasting our tax dollars by making it even more expensive.

And of course the people that buy those materials that government auctioned are going to be able to resell them to the government. Anyone with inside knowledge or a buddy who is part of the process is going to make some corrupt profits off this deal.

I don't know who those "people" were to know if they're the same ones.
But you can understand that known fake new like that from the FEMA response make people cautious in believing reports such as this, don't you?

We live in a world where any random person on X is viewed as a legit source of news. It's often difficult to get the true story, so it comes down to figuring out what you think is true and to what degree you believe it. I'm definitely leaning toward this story being true... so far.

Hell, I didn't believe that FEMA actually had a policy of not engaging homes with Trump signs. I thought it was made up... until I didn't.

As biased as Daily Wire (Ben Shapiro) are politically, they seem to get news stories right. Once they get it right, Ben will likely go off the rails on his podcast with his rhetoric and interpretation of what it means, of course.
