Yep, inflation came in better than expected, but the bond market ain't buying it. We are paying 25 bps more on the debt now than in November. That's a full Fed rate cut. Bonds know what is coming. If you were hoping to refinance something in the next couple of years, I've got bad news for you.
Yeah, I bought a new home last February. My decision, and it is still the correct decision.
But if anyone other than Trump were elected president, I would have been able to refinance and save about $600 per month.
Thanks, Trump.

No... anyone that disagrees, has a different opinion, feels strongly on their opinions has always been called a troll by many on the old board and now this one.

You claim to be the party of "acceptance." But only with views you support.

By the way... calling eveyone a "troll" that doesn't agree with you is a very low IQ way of wanting an intelligent conversation.

I mean... you are the smartest person here right????
I don't call everyone a troll. Just the trolls. When you show up on a message board and the immediate first thing you do is to taunt people who in some cases are genuinely traumatized as "having a bad few months" -- that's trolling. Liberals could say that just as much as conservatives, if their goal was hurting people.

Here's what you're doing: it's like walking in 2.5 hours late to a party and then shouting at the top of your lungs that most everyone there are fucking butthurt losers. You would get asked to leave. That you haven't been immediately banned for the taunting is a sign of tolerance, not intolerance. If it was up to me, I'd ban your trolling ass in half a second. Others have a different attitude.

If you're hoping to bait anyone into the "you're intolerant of my intolerance" discussion that we've had 10,000 times because y'all just quite get your head around it, you will be lucky. I'm not doing that bullshit again.

By the way, we are the party who tries to be accepting of PEOPLE. It does not mean we are necessarily accepting of BEHAVIOR. And you are sure to get confused about this because you do not understand the science of homosexuality and transgenderism, meaning that you're going to claim to be merely opposing behavior but that's a lie or ignorance, depending on your intelligence level.

Enjoyed this exchange. Miss the days when politicians could be somewhat civil.
Can you imagine a MAGA ever saying that to a Dem nominee? And Hirono is not some swing state moderate. She's as liberal as they come, from the most liberal state in the union.

As for Rubio-- I've never been a big fan of his, but that response had more charm in it than the entirety of the other confirmation hearings put together.

Point made.

You are way to involved in the political climate of this country.

You always have been.

Tell me this... How many rights did Trump 45 take from you or anyone you know?

How did he change this country into a "fascists state?"

Did he take away the right for gay marriage? Women to vote?

No... you like to make a huge issue out of a person that you disagree with and scream that the world is ending. It didn't 45 years ago when Reagan was elected and the same group of "intellectuals" were saying the same damn thing.

The schtick is old. Get over it. Your party lost. If you have mental issues, emotional issues over a damn election then I'd suggest you stay off of public boards that offer differing opinions.

Sorry.. thems the facts jack.

I mean, if the last post isn’t an example of bad faith … [shakes head]
How so?
Please elaborate.
I did not make any personal attacks. I voiced my opinion. It may not coincide with yours but why should it be characterized as "bad faith" post?

Again.... showing exactly what I have said. Blue Trumpies.... different side of the same damn coin.

Own it.

Are you familiar with a legal case called Roe v. Wade? I mean, that extinguished rights for millions and millions of people. Gay rights are under attack. The Supreme Court, filled with his justices, are in fact likely to remove the gay marriage right. And as I expected, you're just denying that global warming is even worth talking about. Which disqualifies you from serious conversation.

The right for women to vote is enshrined in the constitution, if you didn't know that. And if that's your bar -- he's not that bad! He didn't nullify a constitutional amendment that would deprive women of any real opportunity to participate in public life -- then you're proving my point, not yours. You're citing as an accomplishment not doing the impossible. It's like saying of a basketball player, "well, he's not that bad -- look, he's never had a game in which he's been called for 10 fouls."

What you know of the Reagan years can apparently fit in a thimble. Reagan actually brought intellectuals into the conservative movement. Not all intellectuals. But to cite one example: Irving Kristol, whose son Bill Kristol was a lifelong Republican before becoming Never Trump. Because Irving and Bill Kristol, though I disagree with them on many issues, at least value truth and integrity.

The thing MAGA doesn't understand is that what they see as the privilege of the professional class was not unearned. Basically, MAGA consists largely of people who didn't do their homework in high school, got bad grades, didn't go to college, and are now pissed off that they are less successful than the kids who did their homework, busted their ass in college, in many cases obtained a post-graduate degree, and then worked very hard as a professional. Professionals are not just rich kids who inherit money. There are real questions of how income should be distributed, and whether very high earning attorneys in particular should earn that kind of money -- but those attorneys went to law school, good law schools, and worked 80 hour weeks as young attorneys.

Working class MAGAs think they are working hard when they have to put in 10 hours a week of overtime. They have no idea how much work is required in medical school. Or how much residents work (and they don't get overtime, and they don't get paid well in general). They just see the doctors driving around in their BMWs and it fills them with jealous rage.

Probably not, at least in this context. He really is that dumb, and has proven it over and over again on social media. And at least half the country simply doesn't care, or even adores him for his blowhard stupidity. We really are living in the dumbest timeline.
He has gotten a Gaza deal done and has moved us closer to the resources in Greenland even if they don't become part of the US and he hasn't even clocked in for work on day one. That is winning. Meanwhile, joe has pardoned his son, pardoned 47 of 50 on death row, had his justice dept. give less than life sentence to MS13 gang brothers for killing 7 (Lame duck Biden's DOJ gives brutal gang leader sweetheart plea deal in murder spree that killed 7), and is about to create a black market geared toward cartels with his nicotine reduction exec. order in cigarettes. That son of a bitch can't get gone fast enough.

“U.S. President-elect Donald Trump said on Thursday he would nominate Bill Pulte to be the next director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA).

The FHFA regulates Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the mortgage giants that have operated under U.S. government control since 2008. The regulator is expected to play a central role in any effort to return the pair, which back the majority of the nation's residential mortgages, to the private sector.

… The Trump administration is expected to make ending the longrunning conservatorship of the pair a priority, after taking some steps to move them away from government control in his first term.

… Pulte is a private equity executive and the grandson of William Pulte, the founder and chairman of U.S. homebuilder PulteGroup. …”

Yep, excitement in the economy of trump taking office. Fed doesn't know whether to shit or go blind.
What does the Fed have to do with mortgage rates rising? And why would “excitement in the economy” lead to higher interest rates?
