Trump on 60 Minutes

Even if the "new" Trump-friendly CBS News asks him tough questions, I can't stand to watch the guy anymore for any length of time. We're well past the point of knowing exactly what he's about and exactly what he's doing to the country and exactly what he's like, so I don't know why anyone who doesn't like him would want to watch him ramble and brag on himself and spew his usual bullshit for an hour, and especially on a network that has been taken over by a Trumper who is getting rid of the network's respected journalists and turning it into a MAGA-friendly mouthpiece.
 


T: “I know he got a four month sentence or something like that and I heard it was a Biden witch hunt”

Nora: in 2025 his company helped arrange a $2 Billion investment in your company World Liberty Financial — how do you address the appearance of pay for play?

T: “Well here’s the thing I know nothing about it because I’m too busy doing the other thing

Nora: but he got a pardon

T: I can only tell you this. Umm. My son’s are into it and I’m glad they are cause it’s probably a great industry - crypto — I think it’s good, they’re running a business, they’re not in government
 
I thought it was interesting that there were very clearly many abrupt cuts during Trump’s talking. I wonder if that was 60 Minutes taking the piss given the Kamala controversy.
 


T: Obamacare is terrible. It’s bad healthcare at far too high a price. We should fix that. We should fix it. And we can fix it with the Democrats. All they have to do is let the country open and we’ll fix it. [cross talk] all we need is five hands we don’t need all of ‘em

Nora: so your saying your plan is to tell the Democrats to open the government

T: correct very simple

Nora: and that you will put forward a healthcare plan?

T: No. we will work on fixing the bad healthcare that we have. Right now we have terrible healthcare and too expensive for the people, not for the government, for the people.

Nora: But Mr President with all due respect you’ve been talking about fixing healthcare since 2015

T: sure but you can’t do it because of the Democrats

N: but since 2015 you’ve said

T: I’ve been talking about it for a long time, we almost did it, we were one vote short, we woulda had great healthcare

[voice over - that was in 2017 when Republicans failed to overturn Obamacare]

T: Nora, that was Joe Biden’s war, not my war. I inherited that stupid war.

[voice over about co to young war in Ukraine; cut back to Trump, who pulls out print out of tweet and brags that he solved 8 of 9 wars, 60% with tariffs]

N: why isn’t that working with Putin?

T: uhhhh it is working with Putin I think
 


Trump says our 401(k)’s have doubled this year.

N: but for people who don’t have 401(k)s, they’ve seen their grocery prices go up, inflation [Trump interrupts]

T: No, you’re wrong. They went up under Biden, right now they’re going down. Other than beef, which we’re working on, which we can solve very quickly.
