Uh, this spouse is in Congress.

Her district encompasses most of Portland.

A member of the House of Representatives should withhold her speech because her husband is a federal judge?

Clarence Thomas is a federal judge; his wife opines frequently about politics. When does he ever recuse himself?

Ah. Didn’t realize she is in Congress. And even if she wasn’t, I don’t think there was any reason the judge needed to recuse himself, particularly considering statements and actions by Thomas’s and Alito’s wives. I’ve seen judges refuse to recuse themselves over much more conspicuous conflicts.

My general point was that it was absurd that he recused himself under the circumstances, but people very close to these judges (like spouses) need to keep in mind that people are looking for every reason to raise doubts about the judges’ impartiality.

I understand the frustration but personally don't have a problem with this one. I can understand why the judge would recuse in this situation to avoid an appearance of bias. I think the government is still going to lose anyway.

With a Trump appointed judge taking the case? Nope. The federal judiciary is completely compromised at this point.

Trump appointed judges have frequently ruled against him in the last few months. The judges he appointed in his first term were not all loony ideologues. Let’s wait and see..

In the video above, Leavitt says that the DOJ is launching an investigation into this guy’s arrest and using it as an example of why POtUS wants to defund Portland.

She says he was ambushed by ANTIFA and was defending himself, the police arrested a journalist.

There will be additional ICE and other federal resources “surged” to Portland immediately.

Unbelievable that the Portland police would arrest an innocent American citizen. I'm so glad we have an administration that takes immediate action to stop that type of thing from happening, regardless of location or law enforcement agency.
