This attempt to break the Iranian control of the Strait of Hormuz. Two American flagged ships got through but several others were attacked in the meantime and there was no meaningful uptick in traffic out of the Strait.

What is completely missing from any of the administration's spokespeople on this shitshow is any admission that the strait was open before we started the bombing. They're asking other nations to basically put their own people in harm's way to fix a mess that we started, and a mess that didn't exist before we started the conflict. It's just all so stupid and brazenly self-serving. To listen to Rubio and other Trump minions, you'd think that Iran was controlling the strait when the the war started, and that's simply not the case at all. It's just been one self-inflicted wound after another - the foreign policy equivalent of taking a pistol and shooting yourself in both feet over and over, and then blaming someone else for it.

Good God. No other president in my lifetime - and I'm in my fifties - would sit in the Oval Office and ramble and talk to kids like that. It's just insane how his followers excuse or ignore shit like this. You've got a group of schoolkids visiting the POTUS in the Oval Office, which normally would be a perfect photo op for the White House and a great moment for those kids to remember for the rest of their life, and what they get instead is this batshit crazy old man rambling about they would likely all be dead if it wasn't for him. Just unhinged. And yet his cult will find a way to defend it, no question.
