I have no insight into what was going on in Putin's mind. What comes to mind is that Putin already knew Trump viewed him as his daddy or maybe some past friendly relationship due to business dealings Trump had with Russia... who knows for sure.
Clearly you weren't around on the zzl during the first trump term because there was near universal, years long orgasmic hope and dialogue knowing, praying, and expecting that trump was going to be found guilty of colluding with russia. "Collusion" was a more popular word during that time than "racist" if you can believe that. And that is fair. I don’t really know one way or the other. It is a lot of conjecture. What is clear, to me at least, is that Putin has repeatedly felt that Trump being president is good for Russia. Whether that is because of some hidden scandal, or corrupt under the table business dealings, or because Trump is easily flattered, (or some combination of the three, to varying degrees) I am less certain about. None of those options, however, make me feel good about Trump as our president. They are all red flags.
