Damn! That’s weird as shit.

Was it a sexual attraction?
He prefers the Dems who he feels don’t necessarily toe the party line; who he feels have “fresh” ideas. He was all in on Biden in 2020 because he thought Biden had the best chance of beating Trump (perfectly sound and respectable position), but he probably preferred Bernie or Tulsi as candidates. He loves him some Zohran Mamdani and wishes he could run for president (which he can’t do because he was not born in the US).

He also tends to buy into a lot of the right wing talking points that are aimed at dividing the Democratic Party.

Is your friend Tulsi Gabbard?
To be fair—my mom, who at 72 was mostly apolitical until Trump 1.0—thought Gabbard might have been a good “moderate” woman to stand up to Trump.

She later recanted. But there was a moment in time when Gabbard appealed to a certain segment of D folks who were simultaneously not terribly well informed nor particularly progressive, but who were anti-Clinton/anti-establishment Dem.

Trump Calls for Fed Governor to Resign After Accusation of Mortgage Fraud

Head of the Federal Housing Finance Agency alleged Wednesday that Fed governor Lisa Cook submitted what he called fraudulent information

“… Bill Pulte, the head of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, alleged on social media Wednesday morning that Fed governor Lisa Cook submitted what he called fraudulent information on a pair of mortgage applications.

Trump wrote in a social-media post in response to Pulte’sclaims that “Cook must resign, now!!!”

Pulte’s post alleges that in 2021 Cook sought mortgages on two properties—one in Michigan, the other in Atlanta—and described both of them as her primary residence in papers submitted 14 days apart. His post included images of what appear to be Cook’s signature, but no other evidence supporting his accusation.

Pulte said he would submit the information to the Justice Department in a criminal referral.

… The Justice Department is probing similar fraud claims against two of the president’s most vocal Democratic critics, opening investigations into New York Attorney General Letitia James and Sen. Adam Schiff of California. Attorney General Pam Bondi authorized Ed Martin, head of a working group tasked with reviewing cases against Trump, to use grand juries in Virginia and Maryland to probe separate allegations of mortgage fraud involving Schiff and James, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Cook was a Michigan State University economics professor when she was nominated to the Fed’s seven-member board of governors by former President Joe Biden in 2022. She is serving a term that runs until 2038. Throughout her time on the board, she has voted in line with Powell and the majority decisions of the Fed’s policy committee. …”

“… Amid the controversy, the personal finances of other government officials and their families have also come into question by rival politicians, the media and others.

Last week, Reuters reported that Pulte’s own father and stepmother had declared two homes in two different states as their primary residence, prompting a town in Michigan to remove a tax exemption for their home there and charge the couple for back taxes. Pulte and his parents didn’t respond to requests for comment about the matter.“

Vast Left Wing Conspiracy … of Murder?

Oh no! It's a VAST TERRORIST MOVEMENT! Did MacCallum come up with that question on her own? WTF?

And they're Democrats!

... hide the kids and put your pants on backwards so they don't get into your zipper!

“… Trump nominated Siebert for the position in May. Sources familiar with the matter said that the administration now plans to install a U.S. attorney who would more aggressively investigate James.

The move to fire Siebert because he refused to charge one of Trump's political rivals would mark an escalation in what the president's critics have called a retribution campaign, with ongoing investigations also targeting Sen. Adam Schiff and Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook.…”

Yeah, "lawfare" is most definitely a Democratic problem.

The presidency as it currently exists needs to be completely destroyed. The candidate that runs on stripping the office of nearly all authority would be one who gets my vote.

OMG, the Soros bogeyman again. Trump and his ilk are mentally ill.
What's so telling about Soros is that conservatives have been obsessed with him for years and years, and yet they are backed by far more plutocrats, like the Koch Brothers and Peter Thiel and Art Pope here in NC and so on. The amount of "dark money" backing Republicans is at least as much, if not far more, than with Democrats. As usual, it's all about projection. They're raking in cash from plutocrats to do nefarious things like Project 2025, so of course it must be Democrats who are doing the same or worse.
