Musk has a lot of resources but he should consider the levers Trump could pull … government contacts, IRS audits and worse … just look at Trump’s battle with Harvard, he has shown he has zero concerns about abusing power on personal vendettas.

Elon has money to use against Congress people in primaries. That fear is what kept the restless natives in check. Trump doesn't want to get into a spending war with Elon for control of Congress' heart and mind. So, the fight is not so one-sided as it is with other institutions.

The GOP lawmakers aren't necessarily counting on Elon's money. The just don't want that money deployed against them in the primary. That, coupled with a Trump endorsement for the primary opponent, is what keeps all the lawmakers in line.

OMG if Trump tries to pull Elon's contracts it will possibly be the greatest example of bad karma in history. Poetic justice, so to speak.

It's still unconstitutional but I would love to see Elon Musk sidling up to Harvard, all like, "hey, can I join your lawsuit against the administration," and Harvard will tell him to get bent.

Both parties are thus far still playing fairly nice and not exploiting some obvious weaknesses. Trump can talk about Elon’s drug use, Elon can talk about Trump’s cognitive abilities and inability to understand economics.
