I’m a little puzzled in that this is the kind of pompy old school protocol type thing that I would expect him to get right. He knows you wear black.

Z was elected president, and almost immediately his "ally" in DC tried to extort him for dirt on Joe Biden. The arms shipments that were authorized were delayed, and would have been cancelled but for the (here is where I ask for the Lord's forgiveness for what I am about to say) noble acts of John Bolton.

Then his country was invaded in the most brazen and destructive aggression in Europe since 1939. He led a resistance, which repelled the Russian attack with heart, pride, cleverness and grit -- at which point his allies in DC turned on him again, and delayed much needed assistance until the war effort was hamstrung. Russia has not relented and has been pummeling Ukrainian civilian areas with missiles in violation of . . . well, every applicable convention.

All this while, for years now, Z has been flying everywhere to garner support for his country. He's managing a war effort; trying to convince the world that Ukraine deserves assistance; correcting the Russian propaganda coming out the White House; lobbying for support and being a visible statesman. An unlikely George Washington figure, but he's been carrying the crown quite effectively.

So, yes, Z gets a pass from me, and do you doubt Francis would given the same pass? If Z shows up in a suit or wearing a barrel like in Looney Tunes or dresses up like the QAnon Shaman -- I'm fine with it. He's earned it.
 
The Vatican issued guidelines regarding appropriate attire. Both Trump and Z should have worn dark suits out of respect. Instead, both wanted to stand out.
 
I think this may be my favorite bad faith deflection of the Trump 2.0 era. Look, I don’t really care what anybody wore to this funeral. Seems like it would have been polite to adhere to the Vatican’s requested dress code, but in the big scheme of things, it doesn’t matter. But MAGAs are so unwilling to criticize Trump for looking like Uncle Sam while sitting on the front row of the funeral for the head of the Catholic church that they’re instead critiquing a man whose capital city is getting pounded by Russian missiles every single night. And that man, unlike Trump, actually wore black!

God, this has become so pathetic, MAGAs. I knew you had abandoned all sense of shame when you voted for this clown, but is there really no end to your shamelessness? Do you have no pride anymore?

I don’t hate Z. He did a remarkable job in preventing his country from being overrun by Russia and holding his country together.

So, so you just use him as a prop for pathetic both-siding? Not a distinction with much difference. And you accused him of grandstanding, which is so noxious and offensive.

Hey, remember when you were crowing about how Trump had the energy of the Energizer Bunny? How's that working out now? You were right -- he had a lot of energy. Too bad he discharged it in all the wrong directions. What does Trump have to show for his 100 days? He caused a recession. He destroyed some government agencies for no reason. He destroyed our alliances, prompted worldwide boycotts of American goods, and made the world hate America. He has racked up a record number of injunctions, and his "high energy" policies are not in effect because they were illegal and have been enjoined. I guess some of the DOGE firings remain, though axing the food safety inspectors and nuclear stockpile maintainers and all the other critical functions that got kneecapped is not much of a legacy.

Wow, if all that is true you would think that the wise and all knowing Democratic Party would have a higher approval rating than 25%. It doesn’t seem like many folks want to return them to power. Wonder why?
