Grossly, I think he’s less hated than ttump is feared. I think most DESPISE Gaetz but have mortal fear of ttump.Gaetz as AG is letting the fox in to the chicken coop. Wonder if this one has trouble, he’s not that popular with the Rs.
aka, "Troubled"She’ll be chronically concerned by the never ending recess appointments and “acting” cabinet members.
That’s what I assumed.that is 110% the same guy who ranted and raved on IC about how long his family has been in NC and that UNC should stop accepting applicants who aren't residents of the state and whose families have been in the state for multiple generations or some such nonsense.
But Hegseth is a surprising pick to lead the most massive military bureaucracy in human history for a few reasons, including his assertion that women should not serve in combat roles; his successful lobbying during the first Trump administration for pardons for convicted and alleged war criminals; his description of “a war on two fronts” ― one against “radical Islamist ideology” and the other against “domestic enemies,” namely, “the Left”; his opposition to the supposed “infection” of left-wing policies in the military; and his assertion a few years ago that “the Iraq War is an example of what America got right when we got it right.”Hegseth - 20 yr military career with 2 tours and 2 bronz stars, degrees from princeton and harvard, great communicator and loves the military. Only thing he is lacking is wisdom that comes with age and wisdom of dealing with DC politics. Not the worst choice
Gabbard - Former dem, anti war, former congresswoman, smart. Woefully lacking in experience and wisdom for that job. Maybe start out in to copy room and work your way up and in 20 years she might be ready for it. Head scratcher to me and not my first, second, third, or fourth pick. Condi Rice she isn't. Not a good pick.
Gaetz - Just WTF? That's a baaaaaaaaad pick. Hopefully he won't be confirmed. And if he has to go through a recess appointment he won't last a year on the job.
He was in the national guard. He has no relevant experience. If anyone thought he was worthwhile for anything, he wouldn't be doing weekends on Fox & Friends.Hegseth - 20 yr military career with 2 tours and 2 bronz stars, degrees from princeton and harvard, great communicator and loves the military. Agree that it was astonishingly surprising. Never in a million years would could I have guessed that. But Hegseth is a surprising pick to lead the most massive military bureaucracy in human history for a few reasons, including his assertion that women should not serve in combat roles; his successful lobbying during the first Trump administration for pardons for convicted and alleged war criminals; his description of “a war on two fronts” ― one against “radical Islamist ideology” and the other against “domestic enemies,” namely, “the Left”; his opposition to the supposed “infection” of left-wing policies in the military; and his assertion a few years ago that “the Iraq War is an example of what America got right when we got it right.”
Ummm WTAF?
You would be wrong: And anyway you were hoping to put kackling kamala the mamala as CIC. I think my judgement is more sound here. She does have a glock though so you have that going for you.He was in the national guard. He has no relevant experience. If anyone thought he was worthwhile for anything, he wouldn't be doing weekends on Fox & Friends.
You have such low expectations for our country. Compare this assclown's resume with, say, Robert Gates -- who W appointed in 2006 and who Barack Obama retained.
You understand what the department of defense does right? And you understand what the secretary of defense does? And you understand how many people are under the management and purview of the secretary of defense? And you understand why someone having only National Guard service experience but no management or leadership is probably a questionable appointment for one of the most important positions in the free world, one that employs over 5 million people between active duty, reserve, and civilian forces? You would be wrong: And anyway you were hoping to put kackling kamala the mamala as CIC. I think my judgement is more sound here. She does have a glock though so you have that going for you.
Following graduation from Princeton in 2003, Hegseth joined Bear Stearns as an equity capital markets analyst and was also commissioned as an infantry officer in the Minnesota National Guard.<a href="Pete Hegseth - Wikipedia"><span>[</span>17<span>]</span></a> In 2004 his unit was called to Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, where he served as an infantry platoon leader with the Minnesota Army National Guard. His unit was under the operational control of the 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment 101st Airborne Division. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal. Shortly after returning from Cuba, Hegseth volunteered to serve in Baghdad and Samarra, where he held the position of infantry platoon leader and, later in Samarra, as Civil–Military Operations Officer. During his time in Iraq, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, and a second Army Commendation Medal.<a href="Pete Hegseth - Wikipedia"><span>[</span>18<span>]</span></a>[<em><a href="Wikipedia:Citation needed - Wikipedia" title="Wikipedia:Citation needed"><span title="This claim needs references to reliable sources. He returned to active duty in 2012 as a captain.<a href="Pete Hegseth - Wikipedia"><span>[</span>19<span>]</span></a> He deployed to Afghanistan with the Minnesota Army National Guard and acted as a senior counterinsurgency instructor at the Counterinsurgency Training Center in Kabul.[<em><a href="Wikipedia:Citation needed - Wikipedia" title="Wikipedia:Citation needed"><span title="This claim needs references to reliable sources. By 2015 or 2016, Hegseth had been promoted to the rank of major, and was assigned to the Army Individual Ready Reserve.<a href="Pete Hegseth - Wikipedia"><span>[</span>20<span>]</span></a>
In 2020, Hegseth volunteered as one of the up-to-25,000 National Guard troops authorized by the Pentagon to be put on active duty to protect the inauguration of President Joe Biden on January 20, 2021, but was removed from that mission because he was one of twelve soldiers "linked to 'right-wing militia groups,' or found to have 'posted extremist views online.'"<a href="Pete Hegseth - Wikipedia"><span>[</span>21<span>]</span></a><a href="Pete Hegseth - Wikipedia"><span>[</span>22<span>]</span></a> Hegseth said that he was removed from the assignment because of a "Jerusalem Cross tattoo, which is just a Christian symbol."<a href="Pete Hegseth - Wikipedia"><span>[</span>2</a>
