The difference is that AA and DEI aren’t the same thing. Which has been my point.
But several posters here are talking about DEI as if it were AA.

It would be completely reasonable for someone to be against AA but be for DEI.
That was really well explained. Succinct, too. Thanks!

'Blathering in Davos': Trump mocked for 'lies and moronic claims' in big economic speech

Donald Trump sparked outrage and mockery after delivering the first major economic speech of his second presidency.

The newly inaugurated president spoke Thursday morning at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where he demanded defense spending from NATO allies, threatened steep tariffs, decried wars in the Middle East, and championed the rise of artificial intelligence.

“From the standpoint of America, the EU treats us very, very unfairly, very badly,” Trump said. "Yet they expect to be selling and they do sell their products in the U.S.A., so we have … hundreds of billions of dollars of deficits with the EU, and nobody’s happy with it, and we’re going to do something about it.”

His speech prompted a range of reactions on social media.

"Says the whole world 'saw the light' when he won. Says 'millions of Russians and Ukrainians died,' he will end it by raising the price for oil. Says 'he negotiated the ceasefire,' 'he got the Olympics,' 'he got the soccer World Cup,' 'in 4 days he got more done than other admin in 4 years,'" said journalist Olga Nesterova. "NONE of these statements are true."

For the fisrt time in 60 years, the MMWR did not go out as scheduled because of a communications pause at federal health agencies issued by the Trump administration. The MMWR does not advocate any policy, it simply summarizes morbidity and mortality dues to various causes each week so that clinicians are aware of trends. Amazing how anti-science, anti-evidence, and anti-fact the Trumplicans are.

Ah, so granting the Lumbee tribal status is a double edged sword and will force them to choose one allegiance over another.

I am starting to think he actually wants to make sure the world burns after he is gone.

1. There will be an injunction by the time they have their babies.
2. Do they think the US born infant children of lawful residents would be deported?
1. That's certainly the hope.
2. Can we really rule anything out. Stephen Miller's been using denaturalization when he masturbates.

There are a couple of other extenuating factors. Both couples live in really red states..red hot. And there are some citizenships involved that are probably not the best in this particular moment. And for one of the couple its their first baby...so nerves are a little frayed anyways.

“… Brian T. Moynihan, Bank of America’s chief executive, asked a rote, prepared question about the new administration’s plans for the economy.

Mr. Trump capped off a nearly two-minute response by observing:

“By the way, speaking of you — and you’ve done a fantastic job — but I hope you start opening your bank to conservatives, because many conservatives complain that the banks are not allowing them to do business within the bank, and that included a place called Bank of America,” Mr. Trump said.

He continued, referring to JPMorgan chief executive Jamie Dimon (who was not on the stage), “You and Jamie and everybody, I hope you’re going to open your banks to conservatives, because what you’re doing is wrong.”

Mr. Moynihan responded with what appeared to be a nervous laugh, and by changing the subject to next year’s World Cup. …”

Well No. 1 has already happened. And it will happen again and again in every court to eventually consider the issue, up to and including the Supreme Court.
