TV Streaming series to talk about.

Really enjoying The Studio. Only about 4 episodes down but it’s very, very clever and well done. Lots of Easter eggs for movie buffs.

At first there was a cartoonish quality that was off-putting but I’m getting into its rhythm now.

It's quite good, and while I am no big Seth Rogen fan, he has hit a rich target field of idiocy in the stench of what I call "Hollywood product," with some of the sharpest black comedy we've ever gotten from TV. Not digress too much on this, but I am really pleased with the recent rise of superb black comedy in movies and TV of recent years. Black comedy, of the Strangelove type that gets us to laugh at and so better understand the worst of the worst of human nature, has emerged as an important aspect and underlying force in zenith masterpieces like Parasite and Succession, and as the main concept, been really good in some lesser but sharply observed things like Don't Look Up.

Living of course in a time when the real world is both horrifying and intolerable, these works that just as truthful as horrifically funny, are more useful than ever before.

Have you seen DTF St Louis?

No, but I just read about it and may well give it a go.

Also considering a show called Bait, which a friend says is more lightweight level of comedy.
I’ve enjoyed DTF more than I expected. It starts slow with very subtle humor and picks up pace mid way through. Bateman and Harbour are great, but Richard Jenkins might be the standout in a supporting role. He’s superb.

The wife and I both found DTF independently while doing the LAT Living apart together - Wikipedia
We’ve been married for over 40 years and yet we hook up on random Sunday morning escapades and attend Playmakers and concerts together. I can’t help but think that the men in it are the antithesis to Toxic Masculinity because they are some caring dudes in a really weird way!
All that said I am really enjoying this “Hunting Party” on peacock!
It’s a great conspiracy theory series that tracks!

Just want to chime in and note that the season 3 finale of Shrinking which has dropped on Apple TV+ is OUTSTANDING.

I watched the first couple of episodes of DTF last night, looking forward to watching the rest...

Yeah that was an awesome episode of Shrinking.

And last night was one of the best episodes of Scrubs, ever.

First episode of the 5th and final season of Hacks dropped last night on HBO Max. Didn't watch because we watched the strong penultimate episode of Season 2 of The Pitt. But we're looking forward to seeing how Deborah and Ava end things up.

I understand it. There were some good parts... but overall I was a little disappointed.

Of course I was also disappointed in the last episode of the Pitt.

Still liked like both series.

Always impressed with everyone here's vocabulary. Thanks for penultimate.

The Pitt is great, but I hate where they left of this season.

I’m late to the party, but in the middle of the second season of Euphoria. At first I thought I’d hate this show (there’s a lot to choose from in the early 1st season). I’ve raised two daughters (now in their 30s) and I am amazed at how strongly this resonates. Superb writing and directing and big kudos to Zendaya—she’s quite the actor.
