Republicans truly are the party of Grand Old Pussies. What a bunch of cuck cowards they are to surrender the whole conservative movement to a demented makeup wearing fat fuck who wears diapers and lifts.

I'm not an economist, but I have very rarely heard that increasing, or at least not decreasing, the amount of money in the average Americans pockets is a bad thing.
I think you'll find that the average American will lose money again. My middle class taxes increased 30% in the 2017 tax bill. Truckers lost 1/3 of their business deductions. Families with mortgages, high property taxes were screwed. The 2017 bill favored the fat orange person moving from a blue state to a red state with no income taxes and a boatload of rental properties.

It was a massive wealth transfer from the working and middle-class families to the plutocrats/donor class. Tariffs and the new bill will steal more $$ out of the working class, middle class, our children and grandchildren. The high paying jobs of tomorrow have been given away to China, Canada, and the EU. Quality of life will erode.

Most Americans can't do math, so they are clueless...or else there would be millions in the streets now.

We Americans are an incredibly stupid people. I guess we deserve what will happen to us. The appropriations bills ARE the game. Everything else is bullsh*t. RIP USA, Inc.

Dead ass serious. Roy Cooper will win that seat. The Republicans are going to nominate some far right insane asylum escaping like Mark Robinson. Shit, they may even nominate Mark Robinson himself.
There are plenty of Heelyeah's out there who will vote for Cooper for state office but not national office. How many Democrats have won the senate from NC in the past 40 years?

Not many, that’s true, but with how badly the BBB is going to fuck North Carolina, I think it’s going to be an uphill climb for Republicans to generate enough turnout in what *should* be a classical incumbent repudiation midterm next fall- especially considering they will inevitably nominate someone who scrapes the bottom of the barrel of the QAnon trash wing of the party.

To be fair to HeelYeah, I think he already said he’d vote for Cooper for the Senate. I may be wrong, though.

I don’t want to speak for him but I *think* he’s said that a vote for a Democrat at the national level- even a moderate one like Cooper- is a bridge too far since it could theoretically help flip the balance of power from R to D in the Senate. I obviously disagree but understand the premise.

Ok, that may be right. His position has always been fairly inscrutable to me, as it has no relationship whatsoever to principle.

I don't know if the BBB will have enough immediate effect to impact results in 2026. I think unemployment and inflation will have a bigger impact. If those are under control, I don't think BBB will move the needle. But we shall see. I am highly skeptical of forecasting a democrat victory in a federal statewide election in NC.

Totally fair and you may be totally right and I may be totally wrong. Honestly, you are a much smarter guy than me so I’m banking on you being right haha

I am almost positive he said the opposite, even for Jeff Jackson, who he likes more than Cooper. Hey @HeelYeah2012, am I right?
You are correct. I voted for Cooper for governor, and I would vote for him for POTUS depending who the Republican was, but it would be a higher bar for me to vote for him for Senate for the reasons mentioned.

The Senate is all about numbers and which party has power. When Roy Cooper is the head executive of a state (or country) you’re getting Roy Cooper’s policies. If Roy Cooper is in the US Senate he’s just a number for the progressive agenda, on likely 95% of votes.

I will withhold judgment on my true 2026 voting plans until I see exactly who is on the ballot on each side.

One clarification: I wouldn’t go quite as far as saying I like Jeff Jackson more than Roy Cooper.

BBB + Tariffs = Poison on the US economy.

1. I am not smarter, you are just more deferential than anyone else on the board.
2. I am banking on you being right.

I just really enjoy learning from folks like you and others. I feel like (or I like to think) that I know a little about a lot, but not a lot about anything in particular. So it’s really fun and really educational for me to be here amongst y’all

Figuring out who you're going to vote for isn't exactly rocket science. In fairness, that's probably true for most people in here. But keep on imagining that you're keeping us on the edge of our seats by announcing that you're "withholding judgement" until you know who's on the ballot. Oooo, HY is withholding judgement until he knows who's on the ballot, he's really going to do some deep thinking about it and we're all going to be so fascinated when he reveals the results of that arduous and painstaking process...
