Is Collins not also ready to retire? She’s 72.
You sweet summer child. You haven't yet grasped that baby boomers largely never retire and go away so that someone else can take their place. They stay there and rot so that the rest of us can suffer the consequences of their poor choices. Buckle up, you've got at least 20 more years of it.

Im 47 and I will retire before Susan Collins.

I’m now very worried about Medicaid assistance for our young adult son who depends on it to live independently with Medicaid-paid caregivers.
altims post about a lot of this being in a couple years etc I have no clue-but hope for you this is kicked down the road for starters

Collins will leave office via defeat or death. It won't be via retirement. The idea of voluntarily relinquishing power is an anathema to her subset of society.

It hasn't been true of any tax cut since, say, 1984 or so, but that's sure as hell not gonna stop them from saying it.
It hasn't been true of any tax cut since possibly 1961 when the top marginal rate came down from 90% to 70%.

The best economic estimates are that tax cuts pay for themselves only at tax rates around 70%.
