Its been said that if the GOP passes this, that it will be good for Democrats. However, Trump would be much diminished if it fails..........and he knows it. A diminished Trump would be just as good for Democrats. Can't call that a win/win situation. Because if it passes, too many folks will get hurt.

Basically a procedural hoop to agree on process for the vote on the bill. If the rule fails, they won’t get to progress to vote on the bill.

The cellphone image Johnson is showing him is probably either a tweet Dear Leader intends to send if he doesn't change his vote attacking him by name and calling for his head, or death threats from MAGA Nation if he doesn't bend to Dear Leader's will.

Of the many contradictions of MAGA Nation, the fact that so many voters see such gutless and spineless cowards as macho, tough, alpha males and females is one of the greatest. As usual, appearances is far more important than the reality.

No doubt this is eventually going to pass, but the fact that Republicans had to struggle to pass it in the Senate and now in the House shows that even Republicans know that this bill sucks and there is going to likely be a backlash to it in next year's midterms. But they'll pass it anyway because they're terrified of facing the wrath of Trump and MAGA Nation.

I shouldn't be, but I'm still shaking my head in wonderment at Lisa Murkowski's incredible statement yesterday that this was a horrible bill, that will hurt lots of people, and it will bust the budget, but she decided to vote for it anyway because it won't hurt Alaska that much, and she then urged House Republicans to do what she didn't have the guts to do and vote against it. Simply insane, totally feckless, and wildly self-serving rhetoric, but pretty much par for the course for Congressional Republicans nowadays. But they're not a cult of personality, oh no!
