The House and Senate are doing a SPECTACULAR job of working together as one unified, and unbeatable, TEAM, however, unlike the Lindsey Graham version of the very important Legislation currently being discussed, the House Resolution implements my FULL America First Agenda, EVERYTHING, not just parts of it! We need both Chambers to pass the House Budget to "kickstart" the Reconciliation process, and move all of our priorities to the concept of, "ONE BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL." It will, without question, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

Dont forget FAKE NEWSWe have finally reached the point at which Trump can claim that he's not cutting Medicaid and Medicare, they cut it to the bone anyway, and his supporters will actually still believe him when he said he wasn't cutting it. He can now lie as much as he wants and his base will just sit there and smile and nod in adoration and agreement. And if anyone disagrees or tries to tell them the truth they'll just yell "scoreboard!" or "MAGA" and think that everything will be OK.
Once that constituency is deported, it won’t matter as much.Republicans in Hispanic-heavy districts push Johnson not to slash Medicaid or SNAP
Eight House Republicans sent a letter to the speaker Wednesday, escalating concerns as Mike Johnson pushes for a vote on his budget plan next week.
Never thought I’d see the day.
Conceptually, I've got no beef with a legitimate audit of DoD spending, or recalibrating spending to modernize and/or to adjust to administration priorities (even though I think the Trump priorities seem to be written by Putin and a toddler, which is something I very much object to). What Hegseth outlines seems like a more normal-ish approach than DOGE slash and burn, fire everyone now and ask questions later. Not clear how the two policies will coordinate/overlap etc. but why would it be clear when everyone is shooting from the hip?
But Hegseth toeing this line is going to piss off...
I am 100% sure he has no idea what would be required in terms of cuts and additional taxes in order to "balance the budget" - not even mentioning the possible negative drag such austerity might have on the health of the economy.

It's the Republican way. I think first term, it was around 6 trillion, some because of Covid but most was tax cuts and defense spending.I always figure that only a Republican President could get away with cuts to the military (Dems would get slaughtered for being soft on defense). Still very skeptical...Hesgeth is not an administrator or a cost cutter...and I can see them reversing field very easily.
I have a prediction that he US deficit will be larger by the time Trump leaves office. He will do cosmetic cost cutting, but his tax policy will exacerbate the deficit ...and he will get cheered for that.
And yet half the country still believes him. And that's why we are where we are today. If he told them the sky was green they'd really believe it, or convince themselves that it's the truth. If he says it or they hear it from Fox or Newsmax or some other right-wing source then it is taken as the gospel truth. He is so FOS. No money has come in yet, just says what people want to hear
