I would have said heck no about 5 years ago but seeing that video from the Navy and some other stuff makes me think it's very possible.Do you believe there have been credible sightings of alien aircrafts? Do you think aliens have visited Earth? Do you think they wouldn't waste their time on us? Do you think there are even other lifeforms out there? Post all about UFOs and aliens here!
There have been no credible sightings of alien aircrafts. We have sightings of things that are not fully understood yet. That doesn't automatically mean its aliens visiting Earth.Do you believe there have been credible sightings of alien aircrafts? Do you think aliens have visited Earth? You know that a trillion to one odds virtually makes it a dead certainty that there's other intelligent life, right?I’ve read some leading famous astrophysicists, particularly Brian Cox, are now leaning toward the likelihood that we actually may be the only intelligent life in the Milky Way galaxy…
I’m a firm believer in life elsewhere in he universe. It’s basically a statistical certainty, the odds are so heavily weighted towards it.
Life vs. intelligent life is the real question, I think. Intelligence very well may be exceedingly rare, possibly even unique to us. From an evolutionary perspective, it’s not the natural endpoint for any given life form. It’s actually pretty costly from this perspective. Evolution selects whatever allows you to survive and reproduce most easily, which hardly ever requires intelligence as we define it.
Single-cell microbial life is probably ubiquitous. Probably even whatever’s analogous to plants. Multicellular, more complex life is probably a lot more rare, but still certainly out there somewhere. Doubt they’ll be jetting between stars anytime soon, tho.
Then you have to consider things like the planet/moon they live on. A lot of the rocky exoplanets we’ve found are big enough to require essentially unattainable escape velocities to overcome the planet’s gravity. We’re lucky the earth isn’t much bigger than it is.
Fascinating stuff. I hope I live to see us make that discovery one day.
Certainly. I definitely think there’s other intelligent life out there. Or at least has been or will be in the future. You know that a trillion to one odds virtually makes it a dead certainty that there's other intelligent life, right?

A visit seems unlikely. Setting aside the vastness of space that makes a visit so unlikely, even a tremendously advanced alien culture may have arisen and collapsed long before humanity’s narrow band of existence (or will only develop their ability to reach earth long after people are extinct or earth is gone). People tend to forget the dimension of time and what an infinitesimal amount of time humans have existed in the grand scheme. There is almost certainly life out there.
The odds of that life being advanced enough to travel faster than the speed of light is much lower, but possible. The odds that the Civ that can travel faster than light exists in the past say 20k years is slimmer still. Then that Civ would have to be somewhere in this galaxy or a close one.
I say no way we’ve been visited.
There are about 10k solar systems in that radius. Almost no chance any of them have intelligent life. Then if they don’t have faster than light travel, it’d take 100+ years for them to get here once they sourced the signal. Almost no chance of that on top of the other no chance. Not forgetting the time element but remembering how much larger our radio footprint has gotten .A sphere with a 100 light year radius is a little more noticeable.
