I agree that it's extremely unlikely but, if we presuppose that there is a civilization or several that does have FTL, a new and largish source of activity on even a remote travel route might attract some curiosity. To continue the gaming, that expands it to anyone passing through or who they might have told.

UFO is only an unidentified flying object, of course those are real.

As for Aliens, I'll go with yes based on the volume of planets. I believe there has to be actual intelligence out there, since there's so little here.

Do you believe there have been credible sightings of alien aircrafts? Do you think aliens have visited Earth? Do you think they wouldn't waste their time on us? Do you think there are even other lifeforms out there? Post all about UFOs and aliens here!
just logged on today but oh hell yea i believe, i've had a close encounter. I'll be back soon to elablorate.

I've had several close encounters, but I'm not sure they align with this thread.

Can't wait to hear your story.

OK, just spit-balling here, so just hear me out before you dismiss this. Key Fact: According to multiple first hand accounts, aliens are very interested in what's up our butts.

Link: https://hms.harvard.edu/news-events/publications-archive/brain/gut-brain

So, lots of research about the 2nd brain in humans being up our butts.

What if:
1) aliens came to Earth,
2) observed humans,
3) agreed with the above linked Harvard publication that humans have two brains,
4) came to the conclusion that the one in our butt was the "smart" one,
5) the one between our ears was only involved in the sexual issues and sensory input, and
6) the aliens decided to only "talk" to the "smart" brain, i.e., the one up our butt, and
7) and the "brain" up our butt has long since comes to terms with and is cooperating with the aliens.

You know that a trillion to one odds virtually makes it a dead certainty that there's other intelligent life, right?
I’d disagree with this. The rare earth hypotheses has certainly grown on me. Not to the extent I don’t believe other intelligence life may exist. But that the odds are far less than one might expect. And why I’m highly, highly skeptical we’ve been “visited”.

Then again, the truth may just be out there!

Yes to all of the above from the original post of this thread. I'd bet money that the US government has proof that alien life does indeed exist, and that that life has visited our planet, and could possibly still be here. jmhho
If aliens visited earth, what’s the likelihood that they visited the US.

What makes us believe that the US could keep such a secret

You're not close, either. According to Quora, (don't know how reliable they are but this should be roughly in the ballpark),

According to the latest census data, there are about 7.9 billion people living on our planet as of 2023. That's 7.9 followed by 9 zeros: 7,900,000,000. So if we divide 200 sextillion by 7.9 billion, we get about 25 quintillion stars per human.Oct 2, 2023

Since there can easily be multiple planets per star as well as some without. The existence of extremophiles on earth proves that conditions that would support humans are not necessary for even terrestrial life so thinking a planet has to be earthlike for life to exist is a fallacy.

I believe aliens do visit us .They bring their children here to educate them about the dangers of eating a poor diet, not doing their homework, and misusing technology

What about the Chinese government? The Brazilian government? Why are space aliens so US-centric? Do they only visit the US or are all other world governments, friend and foe alike, in cahoots to keep visits from space aliens a global secret?

It seems unlikely to me that 1) space travelers limit their exploration of our planet to the US, and 2) only the US government would have evidence of such activity and manage to keep this evidence under wraps.

Throughout the course of human history there have been things we couldn’t explain. The default seemed to be to attribute these inexplicable events to a higher power, a “god.” Now that humans have come to understand the science that explains many of these godly “miracles” we have defaulted our explanation for things in the sky we don’t understand to “aliens.”

I would love it if we were visited by an advanced civilization from another planet. There's just no convincing evidence that it has ever happened. You get these pictures, videos, personal accounts. They often initially seem plausible that it could be something. But then it always just peters out. It never leads to anything substantial. So I just think any kind of life, other than our own, has ever been to earth. Panspermia is a possibility for the origin of life on this planet, but that would just be our life at that point.

I do think life elsewhere in our universe is a virtual certainty. And I wouldn't be surprised if we find microbial life within our solar system within some of our lifetimes. That will be an incredible discovery. I hope I'm around to see it.

Just look up the Drake Equation.

Just look up the Drake Equation.
Before I wade through to see how many assumptions there are in that, justify applying an equation derived from a single small galaxy to an extrapolation involving an entire universe. I think we may be getting a bit too multivariate at that point.
