Sampson’s wild as hell.

At least two wild pitches.

Carter French with a line-drive that scores Reece Holbrook (who pinch ran for Angelo).

Sooners with another pitching change. Catalano (RHP).

11-3, Heels. Still B7.

Cam Padgett in for the Heels for the 8th inning. Throwing some heat.

Walks the 2nd batter. First walk of the game by UNC’s pitchers.

Kepley with an outstanding diving catch!

Two outs.

Padgett gives up a run, strands 2 (1st and 2nd), and closes out the 8th with a K.

11-4 heading into B8.

New pitcher for Oklahoma. Cameron Johnson. LHP.

Lead-off Luke makes 1st base.

Tom Chmielewski, LHP, 11th appearance. GR transfer from the Ivy League, in to close it out.

Gives up a weak infield single and a bizarre bunt to put two on base.

So, it’s two on, no outs.

Here comes Ryan Lynch to end this game.

Lynch strikes out the 1st batter he faces with a wicked slider.

Single for the next OU batter and the runner at 2nd scores.

11-5, Heels. Men on 1st and 2nd.

Yes, it would have been nice if ESPN treated this game as an ACCN-Extra game and just made it available for free on the streaming app like they do for our FCS football games.
Given that it was supposed to be on ESPNU, it should have been cross-listed ACCNX/ESPN+. Sucks that it wasn’t.

It’s the Regional Weekend.

At least a plurality of locations, if not a majority, are in the Southeast…….weather in this area in late May/early June is UNPREDICTABLE.

It’s also College Baseball - not exactly the most popular TV sport.

My guess is that often the delayed game doesn’t start for hours. If Game X is being shown because of weather at Game Y’s location, Game X has likely garnered viewers. Many of Game Y’s viewers went to dinner, the movies, drinks with friends, etc.

ESPN isn’t conspiring against UNC or the ACC.

It’s not like the UNC-Oklahoma baseball game had millions of people clamoring to watch it.

Again, it’s college baseball. Which IS NOT a revenue positive sport.
