Holy Cross loaded the bases in T6; Knapp got out of the inning with a shallow fly ball to center and a strike out.

Still 4-0 heading to B6.

Due to work I only caught portions of Knapp's masterpiece. Going to need to watch it tonight on YouTube.

Four host seeds lost their opening game to the four seed — Oregon, Oregon State, Ole Miss and Southern Miss.

In addition to representing only two states, they all four shared a common decision — not to start their ace pitcher in the first game (looks like mid-week and 2nd or 3rd starters were used instead depending on the team).

It could work out as they dig themselves out of the loser’s brackets, and other teams that started their ace against a weaker opponent may come to regret it as the regionals wear on. But thought it was interesting…

OTOH, Oklahoma used their #3 [corrected] starter (M. Witherspoon) against Nebraska last night and won, so the Sooners can trot out their ace (K. Witherspoon) against UNC later today.
