We are hosting a regional no matter what happens from this point forward. 3-3 in the final two series and we are one of the top 8 seeds.

Agree with this.

To even be at this point, in my opinion, is such a masterful coaching job by Scott. This is a solid team but not a great team in my opinion, and yet they are winning at a rate equivalent or better to that of some of our best teams over the last 2 1/2 decades. The culture and the chemistry in the program is simply unmatched.

If we do that, in my opinion we would have a strong top overall national seed. I’m sure it wouldn’t ultimately happen because, you know, SEC and it just means more and all that, but it would be one of the best regular seasons this program has had, which is really saying something. We’d be 8-2 in ACC weekend series, winners of 8 straight, with tons of momentum.

State is playing tremendous ball right now unfortunately. They started the season ranked but fell out quickly. I don't know what changed but they are among the hottest teams in the country right now.

Disagree that we’re a guaranteed top 8 with 3-3 finish. We might but it doesn’t lock us. I think going 4-2 winning both series would though

We should have a packed house for the State series (it is graduation weekend) and we usually play well against State at the Bosh, but they are No. 1 in the ACC. And at FSU is an extremely tough series. They had our number in Omaha last year and they are very tough in Tally.

I'd peg the odds of winning both series at around 10%-15%.

Even if both series were toss ups, the odds of winning both series would be 25%. You think it’s like half of that? So you basically think/thought we only had a 30-33% chance or so in each series individually?

We probably had a 70% chance to win the State series before it began and 40% to win the FSU series. Roughly a 30% chance to win them both.

It is easy to say we had a 70% chance to win the State series after the first game.

At the time I wrote that, State was the hottest team in the ACC and FSU was the highest ranked team. I would have pegged the odds of winning a series In Tallahassee at about 25% or so and State around 50%.

The odds obviously look a little better now.
