UNC basketball 2026 transfer portal

In addition to missing Veesaar’s production at the 5, I think this is also going to put a big strain on the 4 spot too. Would have been fine with Stevenson paired up with someone of Veesaar’s caliber in the front court, but I worry he’ll get exposed beside a replacement level center.

But there's a difference between "too fat for the NBA" and where he is now, lol.

Plus, I thought his conditioning issues were at least partly related to a recurring injury.
Yes, and a bit too much eating and partying. Big guys who are actually big need to be very careful about their weight if they want to last in the league. Zion is finding out about that.

Sean May had a knee injury in Summer or September 2005. The surgery was due to cartilage damage.

He re-injured the same knee (right) in December ‘05 or January ‘06 and had another surgery that January.

In October 2007, he had micro-fracture surgery on his right knee; he missed the entire ‘07-‘08 season.

We all saw Sean May get in really good shape beginning the process with his SO season and culminating in his outstanding JR season - in which he was dominant.

May was willing to do the work; recurring injuries make doing the work difficult.

What about Miikka Muurinen? Are we still taking with him? Would he help?

I think Veesaar would make a mistake to go in the draft this season, but whatever. Heels can't wait around to see what he will do. This is the biggest downside to the portal now. You could miss out on a guy or push someone to leave because you just can't wait around.
