IC has had a lot of reporting on Hubert's dismissal and they did report about not having as much money for players if Hubert stayed.“…that the donors would not fund nil for next year if Davis remained.”
I heard that here.
Who are these people?
Where's that coming from . . ?Ouch Trimbles Mom even throwing shade at HD.
Trimble had 4 opportunities to go elsewhere.
Greg Barnes.“…that the donors would not fund nil for next year if Davis remained.”

Nor was the team performing at the level expected prior to CWilson getting hurt. But Wilson did get hurt, and Hubert no longer had his generational talent to offset coaching deficiencies.
Terrible comment from the mother of a 4 year senior team captain. That's a body blow.
Not sure what UNC could have done differently. HD and Tanner predicted it would cost around 15 million to put a competitive roster together. Next year UNC will be able to invest 7.5 million into NIL-rev share, the rest would have to come from outside. If that is not coming in, then it would have been so much worse for them to retain HD and have him go out there in such a miserable situation. If it is true that the donors said that they would have withheld donations to NIL and that caused the University to make the decision it made, that is very disappointing. I don't like that they have that kind of power over the university and its sports programs, but as far as complaining about it, that ship has sailed.
If it is not true, than it really begs the question: why do this now? A rushed transition has a much higher chance of a bad outcome than a longer, more planned-out one (in my opinion). It sounds like next season is likely to be a write-off either way. To me, the safer thing would have been to let Coach Davis play out next year and spend the time putting a strong plan in place to get the right coach in place.
I just don't get why the outcome of one game was so earth-shattering: if we had won that tournament game, presumably Coach Davis would be the coach next year. But because he lost, he absolutely had to go? Many people here were really high on Coach Lloyd for next year (I was certainly excited by the prospect). If we had signed a contract with him and then he lost the semifinal game, would that have made it a bad hire?
Seriously? Lot's of folks have questioned his use of too many sets.Terrible comment from the mother of a 4 year senior team captain.
I've never heard Hubert accused of over coaching before.
yeah, as you know i think we had to move on from HD but that's just a weird cheap shot.Terrible comment from the mother of a 4 year senior team captain.

That's gotta be sarcasm, right?Time to move on from HD. He used way too many sets when trying to protect leads.
He's so drunk he's gone 3 weeks back in time. That's gotta be sarcasm, right?
No. Worst teams in UNC history in protecting leads, see e.g. VCU, Syracuse, Navy. That's gotta be sarcasm, right?
