I'm as guilty of it as anyone but I think that we as fans overrate the desirability of the UNC job *in THIS day and age* relative to the desirability of other similar high-major jobs. Unless someone grew up in North Carolina, or with connections to UNC/North Carolina, or was some sort of longtime UNC fan, I don't think that the allure of the UNC job itself- sans the sentimentality and the proud history of the program- is nearly as strong for people who are already at established P4 programs with tons of resources and support. That doesn't make it any less of a phenomenal job, mind you. It just may not be nearly as enticing for someone who is already in the midst of building a great program at another institution with tons of visibility and resources already. Unless they have some other sentimental connection to UNC, what can a Tommy Lloyd or a Dusty May accomplish at UNC that they aren't *already accomplishing* at Arizona or Michigan?
