I'm old enough to remember Cornbread Maxwell and Lew Massey when UNCC went to the Final Four. I was a kid in Charlotte, it was a big deal.

When I was in high school and college (the 90s), having grown up in the greater Charlotte area, UNCC was a commuter campus and, essentially, a 4-year college version of a community college. That's not to say it wasn't able to provide a quality education, but the folks that attended UNCC were largely those who were unable to move away for college (for various reasons) and chose UNCC because of geographic location & being able to stay home.To be fair to you, UNCC’s growth really ramped up in the last 15-20 years. I grew up in the Charlotte area and the school’s size and reputation is a lot different than it was 20ish years ago.
Especially when downtown Rock Hill is about as close to downtown Charlotte as UNCC. Really good school that does great research in this community. But it's WAY closer to Harrisburg than to Charlotte.I was a student at UNCC when we went to the Final Four in 1977.
I hate the whole "Charlotte" thing. I didn't go to school at "Charlotte", I went to UNCC. I don't know anyone who went to school there who refers to it as "Charlotte." I understand why they are trying to carve out a unique identity since UNCC confuses too many people, but "Charlotte" is a big miss.
No, it is close to Harris burg but it is IN Charlotte. Is SouthPark in Charlotte? Is Ballantyne? Don’t you live in Charlotte? You realize there is more to Charlotte than proximity to downtown.Especially when downtown Rock Hill is about as close to downtown Charlotte as UNCC. Small stadium and it's one espn+, so that'll help minimize some eyeballs.the less people that view this clown show is for the best

Believe it or not! There really are people who can only afford to attend college for an education rather than "the college experience". If UNCC had been there in early 1950s, I likely would have been one of those students.Yeah, it’s a big school where one can get a quality education. I know a lot of very bright and successful people who went there.
But it would be an absolutely terrible school to attend for the college experience. Such a large percentage of its student body is from the area. Many of those students continue to live at home with their parents or rent apartments off-campus. Many of those who live in campus dorms go home for the weekends. Outside of attending class, there’s very little campus life...
True. But you can get the college experience for about the same price at just about any other UNC system school. Though I do understand if you live in the Charlotte area, then that may be the most affordable option for a quality college education, as you can attend school there while continuing to live at home with parents. But unfortunately, unlike those other UNC system schools, it just isn’t going to offer that same college experience. That’s its one drawback.Believe it or not! Ah the days of Cedric “Cornbread” Maxwell, Lew Massey Chad Kinch and coach Lee Rose.
Helluva squad and would have given Dean and co. fits in that title game 1977. Niners should have beaten Marquette in the semis. And of course we should have won the natty. Even though we were banged up - we should’ve won.
But I digress.
Heels need to come out at 7pm Saturday and play smash mouth football and whip UNCC in every phase of the game.
When was it -21.5? I have seen it between -12.5 and -14.5 since Tuesday morning. Did it open before our TCU game on Monday? If so that would make sense.opened at -21.5 and action has us down to -13.5. We are pitiful.
Shoot, I live about 20 mins on the nose from UNCC’s stadium and I’m not sure I have a price!Im not sure what someone would have to pay me to drive from Cary to Charlotte to attend this game, but it would be quite a bit of cash.
And, one of these diehard Tar Heel fans interned with the football program while an undergraduate and the other is a longtime Rams Club member and season ticket buyer in football, basketball, and baseball.Shoot, I live about 20 mins on the nose from UNCC’s stadium and I’m not sure I have a price!
