I'm just going to reply once because we all know you're dug in here. That story also directly disputes WRAL reporting about chaos in the locker room, supporting my man asserting in all this about the Raleigh media.
First, BB being told there are problems is not the same thing as BB acknowledging changes must be made. So no...BB has not acknowledged changes must be made. Lombardi says they haven't had any missteps. This is going to plan I guess.
Also, nothing in Tommy's story directly disputes WRAL reporting
- Divided locker room - WRAL reported a divided locker room, not chaos in the locker room. Tommy reports "the view inside the building isn’t as exciting as the media firestorm outside of it. The team is practicing, having its regular meetings, preparing for Friday’s game, and trying to move forward and realize improvement." That doesn't dispute that the locker room is divided. His very next bullet point states "Much of last week’s turmoil was rooted in the absence of sufficient communication around the program. The lack of staffing and communication during the critical retention and portal periods as the roster was assembled in the initial weeks was a problem from the outset. That then transitioned into this staff’s far different way of doing business, including the feeling from players that it is solely a business as opposed to the type of coach-player personal relationship and open communication that is the norm in college. Sources close to the program affirm those issues most certainly existed and needed to be improved, despite public statements to the contrary." That reporting directly affirms the WRAL reporting that players feel things are disorganized and there is a lack of shared culture.
- Preferential treatment - WRAL reported that some players that BB brought in are getting special benefits like sideline passes for parents. An assistant coach is now suspended for that violation. Nothing in Tommy's story disputes this.
- Coaches don't communicate - WRAL reported "Failure to communicate with players and parents has also furthered the divide." Tommy's reporting directly supports this.
- BB did not ask for a buyout - WRAL reported that the other reports of BB asking for a buyout or that UNC was looking to fire him were wrong. Nothing in Tommy's reporting disputes that.
