How did Van Allen Lubin transfer outside of a portal?

He went through the portal. The various sports have different transfer portal windows.

Does that matter? I thought players could transfer at any time.

And it matters in that today is typically the last day for late registration for spring semester. We can continue to add players but they likely won’t be available for spring practice
