Lol...it doesn't bother me at all if you "come back at me". I just said you shouldn't say what I do and do not know. I also didnt say you were wrong or right about WRAL. I just said that you consistently end up feeling the need to defend BB against these conspiracies you feel exist against him. My only point was to say that maybe such conspiracies boil down to the fact that he really is just a fucking asshat that people cant stand.

By the way, we have all been called fucking idiots here at one time or another and it is mostly well earned by all of us.
Look, it's being reported what happened. Bill Polan orchestrated this apparently as a result of Spygate, whatever. All I said is that the voters look silly doing this, and they do IMO. If HOF voters want to be taken seriously, then they should take their jobs seriously and not allow petty grievances to guide them. I wonder how many vacancies there would be if all the coaches considered assholes were evicted so to speak?
I had similar feelings about BB as most on here, and my warming up to him was not after he became UNC coach, but was in fact when he was a regular last year on the Manning Show. He showed a lot of wit, knowledge, humor, and occasionally could be charming. He should employ that often.
But while I apparently always give him the benefit of the doubt (I don't, and was ready to fire him Wednesday after Clemson, and posted that here I believe, but then realized the reporting was false) most of those posting on here NEVER give him the benefit. They just don't. I doubt I will move the needle much if at all.

And I agreed without any equivocation about the voters. It is petty. It is the wrong call. I just made the point that it is telling just how much people around the NFL dislike the guy.

Also, let's not forget that our own communications team was forbidden from tweeting about Drake Maye early in the year until that became publicly known (and therefore an exposure of BB's level of petty). BB is just as petty as those voters so they all sort of deserve each other.

That was incredibly petty on BBs part. I just did a quick scroll on Facebook..as I guessed The Hakl voters are getting hammered and bill has gone from villain to victim. I typically don't watch McAfee and cowherd but might have to tune in today.

It's certainly petty. I guess the real question is...is it wrong?

Belichick was a dick to a lot of people for a lot of years. If those folks use a little bit of power to tweak him a bit, that's certainly an outcome of his choices.

What Belichick's pettiness to the Patriots (both the Drake Maye social media ban plus banning Patriots folks from the KFC) is wrong because those actions harm Carolina Football. I'm not sure this really harms the Pro Football HOF in any real way, largely because when the news broke everyone kinda went, "Wow...but, yeah, I get it."

I, personally, find it hilarious that Belichick is not going to be in the Hall on the first ballot, but I'm also a long-time Belichick hater, so I don't claim to be unbiased here.

BB didn’t get in because of Robert Kraft, he bought the votes - like billionaires do - it was just another election.
Polian has supported Kraft being included in HOF as “owner influence on the game”. Kraft wants in before BB, it’s just that simple.

I'm still not understanding how we as UNC football fans are still supposed to give Bill Belichick the "benefit of the doubt" when we now have 13 full months and 12 full games of evidence that proves that those of us who "doubted" in the first place were 100% correct in those doubts all along. I am starting to go from bemused to incredulous to resentful of the notion that we apparently aren't supposed to be extremely irritated with our 6-time Super Bowl champion, future NFL HOF HC that is widely believed to be the greatest football mind of all time, for coming in and hiring his sons and his best friend and his best friend's son and a bunch of other inexperienced guys with previous ties, and preaching that we were going to be the NFL's 33rd team and have this huge decided schematic and preparation and discipline advantage, and then have us go 4-8 while looking completely uncompetitive for nearly 50% of our games and merely incompetent, unprepared, undisciplined, out-schemed, and out-coached for the majority of the other 50%.

Once again, fully agree.

BB gets no benefit of the doubt until he earns it. With wins. As I said many months ago -- this hire is a failure until he succeeds. And I still feel that way today. Until this team wins consistently BB cannot be considered anything other than a disappointment. Huge resources and opportunity cost (during a critical window for potentially changing conferences to protect UNC's future) have been poured into this decision. Simply duplicating even Mack's level of success would have been considered not good enough. Taking a giant step back is certainly not good enough. BB's history in the NFL has zero point zero impact on how I view him. If you simply view the product on the field last season and the quality of the roster for this coming season and disregard the name on the door of the head coach's office everyone including his few defenders would be shouting at the top of their lungs that this isn't good enough.

He can turn it around but it needs to happen right now. Not in year 3...now. Three years and $30m in salary is not required to become a competitive team again at UNC. If he can't make us competitive in 2 years after bringing in 130 new players then there is no reason for us to continue this experiment.

Is it petty or principled to deny accolades to a serial cheater?

My question goes to my grave concern about the loss of ethical standards in our culture. Does character no longer matter?
