Christ. You are mixing things. Been to all home games and watched all. Have 8 season tix. We are bad. Blame BB. Fine. I am talking about the other stuff. That were bad does not give license to publish lies, if that has happened.
I certainly don't disagree that if lies are being told by the media about our situation then that is bad and should be called out. But that is not the impression that I gained from your posts, as you seemed to be defending Belichick's handling of things this season in the process of attacking the media coverage. At any rate I'll let you continue attacking the media without further hindrance, as I never cared for the N&O or local coverage of the NCAA investigation and agree that they were out to get us. But I will add that there is a difference between UNC fans uniting against unfair media coverage and defending the shitshow that Belichick has put on this season - the two are not the same. It is quite possible that the media has been wrong in their reporting today and also that Belichick has also been a disastrous hire for many reasons, and the national and local sports media are not going to ignore those issues. Certainly they need to be accurate in their reporting, but ignoring the dumpster fire of this season is not something that was ever likely going to happen.

I said explicitly two things could be true. Please point to my defense of belichick. I do know that I have said that opinion pieces saying total program is cluster are wrong. The on field product is bad. No doubt. Recruiting is good to great and UNC is flush with cash for the portal. So those are good.
I agree with almost everyone that if these allegations are true bye BB. We part in that i said be wary iyf media too eager to take negative stuff and run as we know happened with the scandal. Most on here seem gleeful to side with wral and nando in what I see as an attack on UNC not bb.

I certainly am not "gleeful" in "siding" with the N&O or WRAL. You just posted above that you believe that all of the opinion pieces saying the football program in total is a clusterfuck are wrong, which does seem to be a defense of Belichick to the extent that it conflicts with a great deal of what people can literally see happening both on and off the field. At any rate it seems to me that the real issue ought to be Belichick's coaching and handling of the team and program and his off-field behavior, not the media coverage. At any rate I'll not respond further to your posts, so you can continue to post without hindrance from me.

Mercifully I was asleep last night when UNC put out that pitifully pathetic “statement” from Bubba and Bill. Not sure I even have the words to express what level of contempt I have for the people- Lee Roberts and John Preyer in particular- who foisted this unimaginable disaster upon UNC. If we think that the news cycle yesterday was humiliating, today might be even worse when the rest of the sports word gets a load of that feckless “statement.”

So this morning the Carolina oriented sports blogs say no big change is coming ....................

Adam Smith reporting on IC that BB and Lombo held regular meeting with administrators, not an emergency meeting. Further , he said, no contact tallk. So Ollie Connelly dead wrong on that and probably more. Obviously, as I suggested might be the case two days agos, we have a duped media being used by disgruntled insiders. Seems UNC is in a fact finding mission which is prudent. Amazing how many UNC fans seem vested in these allegations being true. As I said we can fire BB for bad football. I'm sure today will be rough but maybe some of these media outlets will do some real reporting before running with story since table is turning. I can dream can't I?

IC was also wrong as they reported multiple sources expect staff changes to happen yesterday. I would err on the side of it’s a total cluster as the reason things are wrong and not malicious intent towards UNC

In the days before internet traffic and ad revenue, I'd say similar. Click-bait consumption is far more valuable today than accuracy in reporting.

No. That means the multiple sources were wrong. And yes sources could be wrong on the contact stuff. Who to believe? IC? Or an NFL guy?

Sorry Nando and WRAL not getting benefit of doubt from me. Maybe they can turn today to reporting on sec scandal at NC state.

Head Coaches do not have "regular meetings" with administrators midseason. It just doesn't happen. I've spent too many years working in college athletics to believe that BS. Administrators only meet with coaches outside of competition times and even then...rarely. Mostly administrators show up at games and glad-hand with coaches as far as personal interaction. If a meeting took place between our administrators, the head football coach, and the football GM during the middle of football season, it was most certainly an emergency meeting.

You can completely ignore any report made by the N&O or WRAL and still have a mountain of really concerning reporting about this situation

I have a suggestion. Let's focus on the product on the field. I'll go first. The product on the field is both sufficient and necessary for the PTB to do everything in their power to part ways with BB with as little financial (and other collateral) damage to UNC as is possible.

Is there a real disagreement on this point on this board? If there isn't, then everything else is a side show.

Yea, except the way it MOSTLY works is that the local media does the original reporting and then everyone else just picks that up. I am sure there is a mix of that here.

Yea, name a coach in history fired after 5 games. I will hang up and listen. The product is beyond disappointing, and as I have said repeatedly, that falls to a large degree on BB and Lombo. But football coaches typically get a few years to build a program and although the portal changes the metric some, not to 5 games IMO. Our staff whiffed on the portal, especially having to settle for QB No. 3. They can't whiff again if they get the chance.
