Mike Price, George O’Leary, Michael HaywoodOut of curiosity, who were (some of) those fired after a single season?
Thanks for the work CalHeelMike Price, George O’Leary, Michael Haywood
In the NFL, Urban Meyer and Jerrod Mayo
Thanks!Mike Price, George O’Leary, Michael Haywood

Al Davis wanted Kiffin gone after a year. He got four more games.Mike Price, George O’Leary, Michael Haywood
In the NFL, Urban Meyer and Jerrod Mayo
He won 8 3 out of 6 years, was on a downward trend, lost multiple games as 2-3 TD faves with an mvp caliber QB, was pretty narcissistic and belittling to the fan base, was 73 and looking ever bit of it, and quit mid season and then tried to manipulate his way back while the AD was in Hawaii. it took all of that for him to be firedMack typically won 8 games, wasn’t a giant asshole, and didn’t get to stay as long as he liked.
Not really slightlyThanks!
I remember Price and the strip club fiasco. From what I remember about O'Leary it was bullshit excuse to get rid of him, right? Basically he slightly padded his resume, right?
This is a weird take. I have zero repub friends, and the few repub acquaintances i have are not UNC people. The unc friends are all in the camp of giving BB more time. But i think, if your pro-Bellichick at this pt, we know who you voted for
If you guys are going to play mental gymnastics, i'll give my anecdote that NONE of my liberal UNC friends have mentioned Jordon. Meanwhile on this board.... Meanwhile the sexist, misogynistic maga dudes on 247 are freaking out.Going even further out on that limb, I wonder how much not wanting to fire a coach after one year and being MAGA go together around "proper respect for authority and hierarchy"?
Ah, thanks. I thought he only said he played more than he actually did while in college. Not really slightly
George O'Leary resigned as Notre Dame football coach less than a week after being hired, following revelations that he lied about his academic and athletic background.
O'Leary claimed to have a master's degree in education and to have played college football for three years, but checks into his background showed it wasn't true.
I will gladly admit i’m wrong about that then.

Vatech's results SHOULD be better than BB's.When next season is over, will it be fair to straight up compare the 2026 season results of UNC/Belichick to VaTech/Franklin?
PSU eventually signed two by end of day. There's a second signing day, but lots of talent will be gone by then. And fortunately there's the portal.Good thing they fired their coach early and got a jump on the coaching search.
It will be Belichick’s second season, so he’ll have had ample time to make for his delay in hiring staff initially.Vatech's results SHOULD be better than BB's.
BB burned down the personnel dept a few days into the winter portal and not far from the final signing day, then dragged his feet hiring assistants. Both of these things make it hard to assemble a talented team.
In contrast Franklin:
a) brought all these guys, with their portal and HS rolodexes.

Since coaching firings and hirings happen right when portal AND signing day are happening, I think the Athletic Directors need to gain more control of football personnel operations by separating GM versus HC duties. At UNC we have a GM, but he's a BB henchman. PSU had them, but they seem like Franklin accolytes. Ideally these two would report...
b) set his coaches quickly.
c) Finally he flipped 12 HS recruits from PSU, and is likely snagging portal transfers from PSU.
VATech and Franklin are doing the rights things, things we should've started at halftime of the JMU game when they were up 50-something to 21.
Oh, i misread the question, oopsie. Yeah, BB's had a whole yr to learn some lessons that he should've already learned from Nick Saban and his son.It will be Belichick’s second season, so he’ll have had ample time to make for his delay in hiring staff initially.
Mack was fired because we gave up 70 to JMU. Wasting Maye and Howe and having a skill set that wasn't valuable in the NIL era didn't help his cause, nor did his age.He won 8 3 out of 6 years, was on a downward trend, lost multiple games as 2-3 TD faves with an mvp caliber QB, was pretty narcissistic and belittling to the fan base, was 73 and looking ever bit of it, and quit mid season and then tried to manipulate his way back while the AD was in Hawaii. it took all of that for him to be fired
It is not sexist or misogynistic to detest that the spouse of our head football coach is a constant circus. If you guys are going to play mental gymnastics, i'll give my anecdote that NONE of my liberal UNC friends have mentioned Jordon. Meanwhile on this board.... Meanwhile the sexist, misogynistic maga dudes on 247 are freaking out.
So Belichick in year 2 SHOULD be behind Franklin in year 1?Vatech's results SHOULD be better than BB's.

Talk about low expectations.Vatech's results SHOULD be better than BB's.

I think it is realistic to think that rebuilding the entire personnel dept, with guys from NFL instead of college, during mid Dec, is going to go poorly. Joe Anile, Lombo we're the early hires and they have zero college experience. There was a scar guy hired, but he disappeared in a week, and a UCF guy.Talk about low expectations.
No, I misread Farce, I thought he was comparing unc 25 to Franklin 26. BB lessons should all be learned now. Now or never. So Belichick in year 2 SHOULD be behind Franklin in year 1?
