His father will get us all the talent we need via the portal. His father is a proven talent evaluator and recruiter.
 
I know this may be a dead horse, but it’s less than 3 weeks until the portal opens and we still don’t have an OC. Best case we sign someone who can bring players with him. Worst case we sign someone with no college ties and he barely has time to find his parking space before the portal opens and it’s the Lombardi solo show. We need this guy in place yesterday to be able to help resurrect this offense.
 
hiring Petrino would accomplish the Herculean feat of making this staff even harder to root for. I wouldn't have thought it possible to get rid of a homophobic slur-slinger and get less likeable, but Petrino would be the hire to make it happen.

in other words, it would be perfectly on brand for this Belichick regime. the only thing more so would be hiring Mick Lombardi.

For a minute it made me feel better that it wasn't Freddie Kitchens, but then I remembered that I wouldn't be shocked if any fball coach behaved poorly like this. CFB is now a pro league like the NFL and the NFL seems like a poster for sportsing moral ambiguity given all the domestic violence, male aggression, lack of accountability and fvckery that has been allowed. I actually feel a tiny bit badly that I enjoy it.

Seems like it would be probably be the a decent hire. Coached Fordham to over 600 yards of offense a game in his last year there, then spent the last 3 years improving ODU each year. Also, their QB is a rising sophomore and went into the portal
 
I wouldn’t hate the ODU OC. Given the circumstances I think they have to take a bigger swing than that though.

Kotelnicki feels like the best mix of a safe hire with proven experience calling good offenses at the power conference level that also fits with Belichick stylistically.

Chip Kelly is who I hope we end up with, but I just don’t see that happening.

Petrino would be hilarious. I’m all for it just for the entertainment value.
