There are some accounting issues there. How do you account for conference distribution, which is 80% attributable to football?
I would be interested in seeing how Carolina splits up the conference distribution in its accounting.

Also, football and basketball being profitable isn't the whole story, they also have to be able to cover the non-revenue sports. And that didn't happened in 2024-25.

Oh there are a million accounting issues
The Elephant is 74 mill in expenditures on NonProgram(sport) specific expenditures
WTF?

The Athletic rated our transfer class as a D.

Just not sure where the optimism comes from for some folks here.

As the article notes, even when we develop good young talent, that talent moves on to a bigger program. And that, imo, is the ultimate flaw in the BB plan to build with HS recruits.

I am having a real battle between my love for Carolina sports and my hate for Belichick.

Yep. And CBS Sports puts us at 12th in the ACC in their post-transfer portal power rankings.

He lost me when he lists Gio in the "top additions" for Wake, but also left our TE out of ours. ;)

Sounds like next season could be really bad - the question is how bad will it have to be to pull the plug on this experiment?
That "planning for 2027" sounded like reactionary ass-covering just after our bad season, but based on the portal season I think that must be their legit plan. And if so then i'm thinking BB must feel pretty safe for a 3rd yr.

Every single ACC team (and most in the nation) outside Miami has the same moving-on prob. Tyler Thompson, Khmori, D'Antre and Mims are probably a less talented quartet compared to the people other teams are losing.

State lost running back Hollywood Smothers (Texas), wide receivers Noah Rogers (Alabama) and Terrell Anderson (USC) and star tackle Jacarrius Peak (South Carolina) . Wake lost guys who will be starting LT and DT at Texas and A&M. Duke obviously lost Mensah and their best WR, but same goes for schools outside of NC.

I’m no fan of Bob Kraft but this is absolutely diabolical and indefensible behavior by our head coach and his girlfriend, and it’s incredibly humiliating that these two represent the University of North Carolina. UNC should be deeply embarrassed. Belichick’s inability to put the UNC program above his petty grievances is so disgraceful.
