Y'all dissing on Mack, but you don't even grasp what he's doing here. He's building something that will stand the test of time. Just as Duchamp hung a toilet on a wall and called it art, this game will be forever remembered as the quintessence of suck. Wins come and go, but giving up 46 in the first to an FCS opponent is legendary.

Mack is a dadaist in his whole age. If y'all would just stop dwelling on the W/L aspect of it, and really the whole concept of a sporting event, you'll get it. Mack is proving, once and for all, that even the most ordinary team can achieve new heights or lows -- just like that urinal on a wall became a legendary sculpture.
1. JMU isn’t FCS. They were in the Top 25 most of last year.
2. The 28-3 loss to FCS Furman in 1999 was the low point. But this is very close.

Oh, sorry, I'm behind the times. For all of their existence they were FCS/DII. For two years they've been FBS. Obviously more than enough time to become a juggernaut.

Is there a reason this is a separate thread from the other UNC football thread? Asking genuinely. I am currently on a boat.

Don't feel bad. We know cfb isn't your main sport.

If it makes you feel any better, this is JMU's first year of full FBS participation. They were provisional FBS the last two years.

Mack gotta go. In his previous 5 years at UNC, he was lucky to have the two best QBs in UNC football history (and while that in itself may not be saying that much in general, those two were legitimately great college QBs), and he still managed to lose 27 games. Twenty-seven losses in 5 seasons is not good, even for UNC football, and certainly not good when you have Howell and Maye.

And now that he doesn't have those two QBs we see exactly where we stand with Mack. He's old and complacent and tired and just doesn't have the energy or drive to do it anymore. He snoozes through games, and so our program snoozes through them as well.
